Its like finally getting McCoy. The name doesn't carry the same weight it once did, but looks nice on paper. Much like our team, and defense in particular. Not saying I'm completely against it, but it doesn't excite me anymore.

I was for it a few months back.

But he’s beyond stable and is in need of help.

Every star in the NFL, was not a star in college. In this "me now" generation, everyone wants instant gratification. I know that there are talented, smart, and hungry safties, in the college ranks. They all don't come from the teams shown week after week on national television. Earl Thomas, is a year older, and seems to currently be making unwise decisions. Once his name is back in circulation; there is no telling what may happen. If they are thinking about bringing him, please make sure that Mrs. Thomas is patted down.

For crying out loud just draft a impact Safety instead of trying to chase an over the hill one like HA-HA or Thomas.

Saves money and without an attitude.

I think the issue with haha was not spending assets outside of that.

Say what you will about the lack of free agent success this past season, after it was all over I think we spent maybe one or two million dollars on signing bonuses which is a drop in the bucket for an entire class.

If we do sign Thomas that does not mean that we should be set at safety or not draft one if one becomes available.

I don't think paying for past memory will get this team to where they want to go. Thomas time has come and gone, no one seems to have an interest in him.

I think he’s a Cowboy.

It just seems like the type of move we would make.

I think you’re wrong! In fact I know you are. It’s the type of move we would have made a few months ago to try and save our season from going down the drain. Our historically bad defense needed a jolt and we didn’t sign him. Thomas is aging and no one wants him including us.

We need to add some good young players on defense not some aging malcontent who’ s a bad locker room influence. When it was reported that practically all the Ravens players wanted Thomas off the team that sealed his fate.

Great safeties age well.

I’ll be more surprised if we don’t sign him.

Actually that 2019 total and the picks was my bad. When I glanced at the years I didn't notice that the area I was looking at was postseason stats. But that still doesn't change my mind that the Cowboys should stay far far away from Thomas. It's one thing to be aggressive with players on other teams but if I was a team mate I'd never be able to trust him that he wouldn't sucker punch one of us. He's now average at best safety and with his mental issues the Cowboys need to stay clear of him.

so your assumptions and main argument for your position are completely wrong but you're not going to change your position.

Why I even make arguments in the first place? It's obvious facts and evidence are meaningless to you.

I’ll be completely shocked if we do sign him. The fact that no one signed him this season tells you there’s a lot more concerns with him than just his age and declining play.

If there was ever a time the Cowboys were going to sign Thomas it was this season when our defense was getting toasted. There has to be some real issues with him for the Cowboys and everyone else to steer clear of him for this long.

He’ll be cheap and they’ll throw stuff out there like how he’s been working with people to get his life in order and he’s ready to just focus on football. Yady yada.

He’ll be cheaper than Woods probably too.

No I haven't changed my mind because of the biggest reason that hasn't changed. He's a head case that sucker punched a team mate and all the teams have steered clear of him for that.

Yuck!

From what I understand though they are estranged and if he has the capability of terrorizing her why does she not have a restraining order and if she does have a restraining order then why is he not in jail.

I refuse to read TMZ so does anyone have any idea of what actually happened because that headline is extremely vague. It could mean anything from him going over there brandishing a gun to him being drunk because he's upset on Christmas and playing the drunken fool.

One is unforgivable the other one is understandable and treatable.

I don’t see it happening because he’ll be a distraction. There’s too much negativity swirling around Thomas. Bringing in an aging player who’s considered a locker room cancer to provide a patch for a dysfunctional defensive unit that lacks talent isn’t a recipe for success. Bringing in these type of players hasn’t worked for the Cowboys. Besides Thomas isn’t going to want to be apart of a struggling team/defense.
