ONE big difference. Nolan hasnt been good in a long time. SIGNING him was a huge reach by MM. Lesson learned and now we have QUINN. I like the package deal we got with Quinn and Joe Whitt. Looks like we may also land the ATL DLINE coach as well. He was with those guys in ATL. He rose thru the ranks, is young and relates to the young players. JJ needs to sign him.
Sometimes you gotta work with your available choices.
Nolan had some solid recent experience but Dallas fans pretty routinely said love the hires except that guy.

Quinn is a much better fit as Dallas haswanted to play that Seattle style defense for 4-5 years and Quinn had the same experience as MM having a little time off to study and come up with new wrinkles to his own schemes.

COVID hurt them but it was also a little much ego by Nolan thinking he could just roll dudes out in a new scheme with no real practice. The stuff Richard Sherman said about his defense was 100% accurate. Just too much going on to play fast.

Quinn was my 2nd target after Wade and I am biased in favor of Wade as he's a Texan and all around good guy.

Was he not seen as an elite DC? Plenty of great coordinators are blah coaches. But he took his team to the Super Bowl in season 2 as head coach. And yeah they blew a big lead but he cwasn't the defensive coordinator on that Atlanta team. Sometimes as head coach I feel like you have less influence in what you excel in as a coordinator.
That was another big knock on Quinn---his in game decision-making was average at best ...but major gaffes increased as his tenure went on from Super Bowl LI to his firing after an 0-5 start this past season. Many fault Quinn for leaving crucial end of game decisions in the hands of coordinators\ assistants instead of he making the call.

Haha seeee Yaaaaaa
I hope more that Quinn has the talent to take Jaylon and Awuzie and a few others and re-tools them for his schemes. and we do not have to replace them.

He mentioned he wants each player to fit a role in the scheme.

Interesting way of saying how he coaches.

I really wanna like Quinn but I’d be lying to y’all if that Falcons Defense doesn’t scare him into thinking he might not be the guy

Well, he's got to answer questions especially during an introductory interview with his new team.

I like what I heard and that's all we can do at this point is "hear".

Quinn: "Jaylon we need better effort out of you moving forward."

JSmith: " Dude go watch the tape. I'm blessed. Clear Eye View. Did I mention go watch the tape?"

No where in his interview did he mention the heart surgeon that's also going to be needed to help turn this D around. It's quite apparent that Quinn can't get rid of everyone who's on defense, therefore there will be a few players who will need a heart transplant to get rid of the heart that doesn't show up at game time on Sunday afternoons.
