People need to give up on the idea of a free agent safety, unless it's another Haha type of signing.

Gipson would be better than clinton dix. We shouldve gone after him but fat Garrett loves who he supposedly knows.

We don’t sign big names in FA unless they are 5 years past their prime or completely washed up.
Secondly, I think the Broncos retain Simmons, sadly. They don’t have anyone else to pay right now.
If you wanna know who we will target look at roster cuts, cast offs, and has beens.... it will be someone from that group. Earl Thomas was totally be a Stephen and Jerry move right now.

Crawford’s gonna be gone and so will a few others.

Ya and there will be some that the Cowboys will want resign and like every year it will cost a little more. The Cowboys have never been able to resign all of their free agents they want to keep and Crawford will probably be let go is just one of many but that still doesn't mean with a smaller cap the Cowboys will have that much money left after signing the players that want to get signed and still be able to go after other free agents.

It’s very likely Stephen stays cheap even if he had the most cap room in the league. Nonetheless I’ve listed some lower cost free agents in the video for those that are looking there as well

We have somewhere around 20m free right now and with a few signatures can add and easy 30-40m. Don't be fooled by the cap being the issue.

I really don't think you really know that much about the cap. We will have room to make moves even with signing Dak. We have half a dozen contracts that can be redone easily to free up lots of money.

They think you can put any cornerback back there to just run around. Like safety isnt about instinct and route recognition
Im buying reggie robinson working out like i bought byron or awuzie or lewis.

Yeah, because Byron didn't become a top level corner. You might want to consider the difference between a first rounder like Byron and guys picked in the fourth round or later.

I really like Keanu Neal, but he may be redundant with Wilson here. Talented guy who had back to back injury years IIRC.
Feel like Maye may get overpaid by the Jets to retain talent.
Simmons feels like a Madden dream, especially with recent history of this team valuing safety+ his salary demands.

Unfortunately I feel like they'll aim low again in FA and try for a sparq guy in the draft

Cowboys needs to just use a top 3 pick on a safety. Its that simple. Great safeties can be had in rounds 2 and 3 every year. Not tough stuff.

Xavier Woods
Woods entered the league as a versatile safety with slot coverage skills and a sixth-round draft steal as he’s developed into a solid free safety. He ranks in the middle of the pack from a coverage standpoint when lined up deep, but he’s been excellent when lined up closer to the line of scrimmage, making him a good fit for teams that play with interchangeable safeties. He can still dabble in the slot at times, and the Cowboys are doing more of that in 2020, but it hasn’t been Woods’ strong suit to this point in his NFL career.

This much talent at one position could have the effect of suppressing contracts for everyone. Or, particularly because of the salary cap situation in 2021, it could have the effect of eroding the middle-tier market. Teams may decide that unless they can land a premier free safety who is an impact player, they might as well just go to the bargain bin and sign a cheap veteran. For this reason, Woods’ next contract could truly fall within a very wide spectrum.

Prediction: Cowboys sign Woods to four-year, $25 million extension ($6.25M APY).
Please God, no ......... Woods needs to go.

Maybe we spend for a FS, but not a SS with Wilson already an option, and Neal looks like he'll make real money.

We've got Wilson and Robinson. That's it. We need bodies. But price will be key.

Thomas is a likely signing. Single high FS, likely cheap, keeps saying he wants to play here, and Quinn is here. Out of the league for a year. Our kind of guy to churn for comp picks.
