Or.....you can see about $200,000,000.00 go down the drain with nothing to show for it.
It was a joke. Maybe.

That team won 4 games before Dak got here. Surely wasn’t that good.
You are full of ****....Dak played well enough to win that Packers game especially for a rookie. Dak took over for a team that won 4 games I don't care how well they played in 2016 that was not some juggernaut. Dak and ZEke were a big reason they won those games and the offensive line. Saying otherwise proves YOU weren't watching back then.Your comment proves you weren't watching back then. That offense was killer and the defense while not the best, was good enough to hold a team under 24 points. The problem was when The Cowboys got to the second time around against the NFC East (and you can go back and look) #4 got his arse handed to him. Same in the one playoff game the team played. Yes, they played some good ball AFTER spotting Green Bay some points thanks to your favorite player. I will also say, if you go back and look at the game, they still had some chances late in that game to win but, well, we will just leave it alone......
Its crazy though.....Romo got paid TWICE...no questions asked despite his lack of playoff appearances or success......now the bar is Dak has to get there 3 out of 4 times.......wow.
Yes he did make questionable calls causing me to question him as my 1st choice after Rivera was off the market.
However, I am dismissing this entire season for new coaches because there's never been another like it for the lack of prep.
One thing I do fault McC for. He rehired Moore because he wanted some continuity with his offense and that made a lot of sense but then hires Nolan and allows him to install a new defense on the weakest part of the team. It's not like Nolan had this impressive track record, he couldn't even get a DC job in his two previous jobs.
I do not like the Joneses hiring coaches but in this case, they should. McC has forfeited that privilege. The next DC has his work cut out for him because he's got to instill confidence in his D. I don't care what kind of false bravado these players exhibit, they know they were the worst D in Cowboys history. The road back will be difficult and take more time than one year.
I’m talking about Jerry and Stephen. There was never any fight to get Romo paid. Why do some forget how Romo was treated? It was never no questions asked with Romo. Plenty didn't want to see him get paid. Some of the same talking heads that were dissing Dak were saying Romo couldn't win big games, etc.

Ehh I disagree. Even that 68 million at the time was a lot. Sure it ended up working out since he ended up being good but it was still a deal he couldn’t refuse....There were several incentives to sign Romo in 2012, including length of the extension and the fact that it lowered his cap hit that year. When Romo signed his first six-year deal in 2008, it was a bargain ($67 million over six years).
So you could say the Joneses weren't quite sold on Romo the first time he came up for a new deal, but by the second, they were all in.
I think it's been similar with Dak in that the Joneses weren't quite ready to commit big money to him when they could have extended him, and now they can't get him to agree to a long-enough offer.

Judging QBs by wins is stupid. Team game.
Dak want's 20% of the cap. Romo got paid less than 15%. Dak *should* be held to a higher stand of *play* to get 20%.
If Romo was playing in 2020 he too would’ve got paid 20%...quit using his outdated contract to compare and contrast what Dak should get. Dak wanting 20% of the cap is a complete myth at this point.Judging QBs by wins is stupid. Team game.

you know the cap goes up every year, so that percentage will drop......Judging QBs by wins is stupid. Team game.

Dak better not take a discount. Jerry needs to do his job betterJerrah pushed Dak under the bus. He basically says he is going to pay Dak top dollar but the Cowboys will not sign any free agents because Dak will get all the money. The Joneses are trying to pressure Dak into taking a home town discount by telling the fan base if they pay Dak no money will be left over for free agency.
