I think CAR is first in line. They have the nucleus of a good team and a HC that can be quite QB friendly to a player like Watson. Plus look at the division. Brees is gone, Ryan is a ? and how long will Brady play and can they keep that team together.

And the WFT might be in the running as well with some good pieces already in the mix.

If he doesn't like McNair, IND is the place to go. If they would trade him to them.

Been saying this since he requested out of Houston.

Sign and trade Prescott, Cooper, and Elliott for Watson.

Houston would have Prescott with Elliott, David and Duke Johnson in the backfield. Cooper, Fuller, Cooks, and Coulee on the outside. That would be attractive for them.

Dallas would have Watson with Lamb, Gallup, and Wilson in the slot. Schultz and Jarwin at TE. You draft a new RB and WRs along with defense and OL. Dallas has 10 draft picks and could get this done.

Watson is two years younger and is signed for the next five years. His cap hits are 16, 40, 42, 35, and 32. All within reason for a top 5 QB.

Will Fuller and Brandon Cooks are just as good as anything in Dallas...Coutee is also a good receiver.
What?

Cooper > Cooks - Cooks has slightly better stats but has played 10 more games and has had Brees/Brady/Watson as QB.

Cooper:
6211 Yds - 38 TDs

Cooks:
6880 yds - 40 TDs

Gallup > Fuller - career stats are close and Gallup has played 2 less seasons

Gallup:
2457 yds - 13 TDs (3 seasons)

Fuller (probably just pulled hammy getting out of bed this morning)
3110 yds - 24 TDs (5 seasons)

Lamb >>>>>> Coutee - no explanation needed

We can find a bus driver for much cheaper.

I think it would be ridiculous to go after him but just to clarify...you don’t find him to be a bus driver right?

Does Houston not play under the salary cap?

Fuller can't finish a season without missing anywhere from 5-8 games. Yeah for those 8-11 games he plays, he's good but what good is that if you can't actually play most of the season?

I was quoting about you wanting a QB like Dak who can just play within the confines of the offense.

We don't need to pay 35-40 million a year for a QB who does that. That would be a epic rip off.

We need someone who can carry the team for that much money.

I think the Panthers are pretty under-the-radar, but a good bet.

Charlotte is driving distance to Watson's hometown, I think.
Yep, barely over 3 hours.

And a high character guy that's also a good QB is exactly what that franchise has always needed.

No.. I think Mahomes is the only guy worth that type of deal.

If you want to pay someone who already has a championship that kind of money then by all means go ahead and reward them and accept that you aren't going to win anything.

But a franchise with no Superbowl paying their QB like that is just stupidity unless they just don't have championship aspirations.

It's hard to win a title with a QB making Jared Goff money much less 40 million.

OK. So your entire argument is based off strategy and how to build a roster. It isn't necessarily whether a qb has market value or not

I'd rather have Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, or even Sam Darnold and all my picks over Watson.
Watson is a top 5 quarterback. Who has not begun his extension yet. Wilson and Fields are unproven. Darnold is bad. I disagree big time. He will fetch the biggest draft haul in the history of the league. Watson is 25 years old.

The market is stupid and team crushing.

If you've won a title or have a truly elite QB then feel free to participate in the market of stupidity.

Just know you are almost guaranteed to kiss your championship aspirations goodbye after they are paid.

So let's say he goes to the Jet's..

When does he make them a title contender?

Not only do they have to overcome his contract but they also have to overcome all of the draft compensation they gave up.

The smart play is a rookie QB or build around Darnold who is 23 years old with 4 years of experience.

That was Rayman. You didn’t quote me. I was just making sure your stance was in paying a guy too much at the position snd not that he was a bus driver. That’s all

Gets his big pay check..

Takes a look around at the team.

Wants to jump ship...

Stop paying these QB's.. The market of stupidity strikes again.
or stop mismanaging your players. why would you tell someone you will let them be a part of the process only to not keep them in the loop? self sabotage for no reason imo.
