A change of scenery might do Goff good. But he's only 26. He's been over 100 passer rating twice and been to the Super Bowl once. Very surprising that he's tossed into the deal like a Ryan Fitzpatrick.

They paid that price to get rid of Goff's deal and eat whatever they had to up front.

Detroit is going to be loaded with draft picks and another QB who was the 1st overall pick in his draft and is still young.

Smart move by them.

There was competition for Stafford.

YUCK...no wonder why they suck...they never have any 1st round picks lol.......

They've clearly believed that going after quality veterans is more important than drafting in the first round. This Stafford trade will strongly test that theory.

Seems like they can get from under this sooner rather later if they wanted to.

Detroit? As opposed to sunny So Cal??
Disrespect heaped upon him?
I'd take whatever is left in guaranteed money and retire. Make a bigger fool of Rams and snub the buffoons in Detroit.

Nice trade by Detroit. Can't believe they got away with that. I bet it will be a fun game to watch when they play each other next season.

Detroit is still going to be dregs, perhaps for awhile. Ram's will be top-3 in NFC, maybe team to beat.

Lions perpetual problem is they have dumb people at very top, and I'm not convinced that has changed.

So this is same as Stafford for Goff plus a 2021 2nd and 3rd rounder.
Rams didnt even have a 1st rd pick this year.
Maybe still be too rich, but nowhere remotely near what it sounds like.

NOT 2 current 1st rounders.

These are “future” 1st rounders not current.
Not at all the same

The Rams could trade this years 2nd for a 2022 1st easily. And a 2021 3rd is valued as a mid 2023 1st.

They are and they have balls to use Stafford to test this lol...yikes.

That's insane. They literally don't value 1st round picks at all.

Since 2016 they've invested 4 1st round picks in quarterbacks......if McVey is the QB guru and offensive genius he's painted to be he sure seems to be wasting a lot of 1st rounders on guys.

If we are being truthful....the Rams look to be making far more dumb decisions lately...hell they just got outsmarted by the Lions.

Goff benefitted massively from McVay's system. With Detroit's roster and coaches he'll have zero chance. His days as a starter, if not over, are counting down.

Lions should be looking immediately to drafting QB.

My problem is, unless you are Tom Brady...Stafford is kind of old especially given his recent availability problems/bad back etc. It's a big gamble to give up all they did but they must have really, really wanted to get away from Goff to do what they did. Not sure what happened there.
who says Stafford can't play 10 more years like these other guys?

Lol, the homer who thinks the Rams suck even though they have done more in the past 5 years than we have in the past 2 decades, chimes in with his wisdom. This isn’t surprising coming from the same guy that wanted to keep Garrett.

Houston: "Hey NFL GM's, You want in on Watson? Negotiation starts w/3 first rounders. Don't bother to call us unless that's your base offer."

Could cost four 1st rounders, PLUS.

Why? Dudes a proven loser just like tannehill, and Jackson. 4 1's would only be for mahomes who's shown he can win.
