That history of losing was with a perennial loser and a coaching gallery worse than the Cowboys.

The dodgy back is a risk but the Rams have one of the better OL's in the game and something Stafford has seldom had in his career, a real run game. The best he had was Kevin Smith at RB and Linehan called the most pass plays in the NFL that year, every year.

We all get out in front of something like this with uninformed opinions because we haven't seen it yet. Most were just giving the Lombardi to PHL when they pulled that Dream Team deal and that was a disaster.:muttley:
Stafford winning percentage against winning teams is like 12 percent. Blame the organization all you want but when the lights turn on he folds. Always has. Even with megatron lol. Also remember. People here wAnted to trade for him. Imagine this forum if Jerry gave up that amount of draft capital for a 30 plus year old QB

Their goal is simple, get that ring. If they accomplish that, they gave up just the right amount. Anything short of that and anything they gave up would be too much.

Let's not forget this all started with McVay saying Goff was his QB "FOR NOW". That's like introducing your wife to some one, "this is Cindy, my wife....for now". When he said that, the party was over in LA for Goff.
The fact that they wanted to part ways with Goff doesn’t offset the fact they gave up way too much for a past his prime Stafford. That’s my opinion anyway.

Insane. Goff and Wentz are cap busts. Both teams couldn't get rid of them fast enough.

and will be trending. 32 teams, so who wants the risk and the contracts.
McVay chose to be ahead of bull rush.
Time will tell if the choice was wise, but at least he ventures.

You can pad stats for a game, a season , or even two......but you don't become the fastest QB to get to 40,000 yards whtout being a monster.

Look at the company he is in

I wanted to give up the 10th pick for him but that's before I saw his comment on what kind of team he wanted to go to and what the Rams were offering according to rumor, a 2nd this year and 1st next year. Don't know if the Niners ever got down the road far enough for an offer. The Rams were motivated, they were more like get this girl outta of the singles bar now, to hell with last call.

I would take him over Prescott but the fact is the Rams are a far better team and truly a QB away. The Cowboys are half a defense away.

Yeah and giving up draft capital isn’t helping build that defense. I don’t know why this is so hard for people to comprehend

Obviously this shows that Rams are in win now mode. They have a really strong defense. Just need a stud QB to take them to the chip.

And if they don't get "the chip" some people are going to be fired. It's a bold move, basically putting your job on the line.

Of course, no trades in Dallas put anyone's job on the line. Except maybe the coach, who isn't the guy who made the trade.

They've won 33 games the last three years and I would bet significant money they'll win more games over the next couple of years than the Cowboys.
Yup.

Rams are ready now. And they'll be saving 7.825 mil against the cap in 21 and 2.5 mil in 22. That can bring in a decent player.

None of that means anything. He had to throw the ball a lot because the Lions never had a running game and were usually playing from behind. What has he ever won? Absolutely nothing.

This is literally one of the dumbest trades I've ever seen. In any sport. I assumed Schefter had a poorly worded tweet with those details. Surely not all those picks are going to Detroit.
Chances are those picks will be very low 1st round picks, assuming the rams get into playoffs next 2 seasons. Same for the rd 3 pick.
The strange thing is that the rams think Stafford is that much better than Goff.

The lions could now trade Goff and get more picks!

I am ok with the picks, or Goff, but not both for Stafford.

IMO, the Rams shouldn’t have given more than Goff and a second. That’s it. Two first round picks, a third, and Goff? Insane.

I have to be reading this trade wrong or the Rams are bigger melvins than Jerry.
i cant remember a trade like this outside of Bill Obrien's knuckleheads' deals that can match this..its insane i mean if an old lets say slightly injurys prone romo 2014 clone in Stafford can get a player like Goff, 2 1sts and 3rd what is reasonable offer for dak and watson? 3 1sts? i mean Rogers then is worth 4 1sts ..the rams better win a SB this year and i mean SM and that GM are on notice...first you pay and ovber pay many players on the roster then give them away for nothing, then you pay Goff a mega deal and then give him and 3 picks for an aged QB in stafford..that ridiculous

Like i said only thing that makes this worth it is a SB trophy this season , that is it anything short of this the Lions robbed the rams... Goff is decent QB , hes young and you have 3 picks as well..
BW Jerry never made deal this severe , theres been some bad ones but this is outside the realm of ridiculous..

im not scared of the true QB market and what owners will do, now i understand why Jerry didnt let Dak seek offers under a NE Tag..hes worth 2 firsts and then some of 32 yr old broken qb is worth all that..

Insane

i now regretfully move to the PAY DAK crowd and get this settled..the owners are senile and overpay all qbs..
