I like Slater BUT I feel not in any order we need to go CB, Safety and DL with the first 3 picks than in the 4th Round should be 2 picks OL and LB
Shaun Wade maybe a free safety option in round 2 if they are hell bent on having a bunch of babies in the secondary100% this.
I know the players will change ... but ideally for me we go
1st - Surtain or Farley
2nd - Grant or Moehrig
3rd - McNeil, Tufelele
4th - OT, LB (Werner I’m very high on)
Is he still in the burn unit at Columbus Memorial??Shaun Wade maybe a free safety option in round 2 if they are hell bent on having a bunch of babies in the secondary
Hey i said safety not corner. Lol hes a trash corner but ohio st dudes seem to have something in themIs he still in the burn unit at Columbus Memorial??
Our O-Line was a mess last year and in the playoffs O-Line issues significantly hurt both the Packers and the Chiefs. He would be the ultimate swing center, guard, tackle and would start day one.
Slater is the fall back option only if we are wiped out at # 10, and we cant get a trade back.
Doesn't seem like that will happen, but you never know. We have to be ready for any scenario. For me, ideally its Farley, then Surtain. Then LB'er if he's still there/Trade back. Have also heard that Slater is a little on the smaller side that some of the other projected tackles, but hey - if he has the talent and can anchor down/slide to mimick DE's.....Again, he is the failsafe, fall back if all other options get wiped out.
Hard Pass. He has short arms for a Tackle. That's the position we need most. What is everyone's take on Rashawn Slater? Seems like he has the ability to play all 5 positions on the offensive line, and after our series of injuries across the line last season, I could see that being a very valuable addition.
Yes, that very well maybe true. I believe strongly in best player available - at a position of need. And feel that if all players are equal/tags touching - go with defense first. Many view Slater as a blue chip prospect, where the team may even have him ahead of any defensive player.
From everything I’ve read there are serious questions about him playing OT in the NFL because he struggles with speed rushers. However, he would probably be great at OG. No way I’m drafting any OL at 10 unless I think one of my starters isn’t returning.
Slater had ridiculous stats his last year on the college level, playing in one of the best conferences in the country:If you think he could turn into Zack Martin id take him in a heartbeat.
Gives a stud on a rookie deal and keeps you from paying Williams.
he would be my pick actually ahead of Sewell. Not a knock on Sewell..but I just think Slater is more rounded at this point. Better value..but not by much lol.Slater had ridiculous stats his last year on the college level, playing in one of the best conferences in the country:
0 Sacks, 1 QB Hit and 5 pressures in 787 snaps.
Why do we need another guard? What is everyone's take on Rashawn Slater? Seems like he has the ability to play all 5 positions on the offensive line, and after our series of injuries across the line last season, I could see that being a very valuable addition.
^^this...THINK about it, look at the status of Collins at RT..THAT SHOULD BOTHER US. Its up in the air after he had hip surgery and was woefully out of shape last year. Couple that with a car wreck. SO that is a huge issue. Look at Tyron and his back and the games he has missed last 3 years. Bad backs usually don't repair themselves longterm. SO here we are, we have big questions at both bookend tackle spots. To ignore this is willful blindness. Dang right we better look at the oline early in this draft. If Sewell or Slater is there at 10, we have to draft one of them.It would be very foolish not too. From everything I’ve read there are serious questions about him playing OT in the NFL because he struggles with speed rushers. However, he would probably be great at OG. No way I’m drafting any OL at 10 unless I think one of my starters isn’t returning.
Darrisaw is another olineman I would take a hard look at too. Even at 10 IF he is my highest rated player and value. It all depends on their scouts evaluation honestly. If they have this dude rated as the next Tyron Smith then you take him and run because they seem to know how to scout o-linemen. If he is just a run of the mill first round talent and either of the DBs are graded as the next Jalen Ramsey then they had better not pass on the DB.
