If I am the GM, I am not trying to get Prescott signed, I am on the phone talking to every GM with a QB issue about their level of interest in Prescott. I let Prescott and his agent know this is now my plan, to tag and trade him and the discussions are all about that now and signing him as the DC QB is now over. I agree to keep them in the loop and are there some preferences where he wants to play?

This is no longer about the marriage, it is about the divorce and who gets custody of the QB.

Ask yourself this. How many contracts have been done with the GM saying up front that the player holds all the cards, leverage? How many GM's are overly effusive in their praise of a player, even when he screws up? Do they even say anything about the players? Ever?

I think it's the latter. He got ring side seats to the Zeke negotiation. I doubt he wants out of Dallas, he knows that here he can continue to go 8-8 and there won't be any accountability. It's all smiles and "we like our guys"
Exactly. Gullible fans glorifying his 8-8 and dink & dunk padded stats , endorsements, no state tax , richest franchise in the world , naive GM , nice weather etc etc why should he leave and face a real test in New York or other competitive markets . And above all , he wants more .... complete disrespect especially during the pandemic with so many people struggling .

I hear you Couch, but can we really evaluate Jerry as any other GM? The only real comparison we have of someone like him is Al Davis and we all know how that ended.

I’d use the nonexclusive tag on him and let him see how other teams view him. If someone makes an offer we don’t want to match, let him walk for the draft picks. If he doesn’t get the offers he expects, it might bring him to reality.

This take always confuses me .......I'm pretty sure the Cowboys knows exactly what he's worth on the open market. For the most part, ALL 32 NFL teams are using the same evaluating principles/standards for starting QBs. Now that not to say there won't be a team or two willing to overpay if they want him bad enough but his market value is likely in a similar range for all teams. A good example is what the Rams traded for Stafford. McVay wanted him bad so he intentionally overpaid but reports from all other offers were very similar ( one 1st and 2nd or 3rd round pick ).

Mahomes long-term deal averages $45 million per year. So the $40-$44 mil the Prescott camp wants doesn't surprise me, and shouldn't surprise many.

Hes not right behind Mahomes though. So see I was right in my thread.

It's about price, he's being greedy

Jerry, you didnt take the bait in the Byron Jones situation which was a step in the right direction for you. Lets see if can make another decision for the betterment of the franchise where you arent paying filet prices for a cheeseburger and crippling the franchise. Show us what you learned Jerry.
* Looks like BOB LILLY deploying footballish protocol upon BOB GRIESE:clap::thumbup::clap:

OK, read it.

Dak and is camp are complete and utter morons. No wonder we can't come to a deal, he's being completely unrealistic, not to mention simply stupid.

I tried to tell yall, but people in my thread said I was making it up

Louder...... maybe a few posters will hear you (lol)
I would give you more likes if I could. This is so true. We all have different opinions about things and it would be best if we just listen to those opinions even if we don't agree with them and not bash or insult the poster because they are different than ours.

I guess my narrative that his agent is influencing him was wrong. His ego seems to have spun out of control.

I'm going to go down another road then, if not his agent, maybe his brother? Take a look at the account. I'm sure he's telling his brother every day that he deserves better, and Tad has been really clear that he wants Dak to move on from Dallas.

The Joneses are doing a great job of leaking stuff to the media to make Prescott look greedy as all get out. Regardless of where you fall on this, the Jones family calling anyone greedy is the largest pot in the kitchen calling the kettle black. There isn't a group of people more greedy than the Jones family.

Amen.........this is a certified pro-Dak poster. Love the kid, love to have him for the next 10 years but it time to take control and bring closure one way or another. We can't say what has gone on behind closed doors but there's no denying the passion and praise Jerry and Stephen have shown publicly. Stephen......" I wouldn't trade a first overall pick for Dak". Jerry ......" Dak has all the leverage here" or " I see Dak like I see Stephen".

Enough is enough.........either he takes control of France and his career or we will, simple as that.

Two things to remember:

1. "Reports" and "rumors" aren't always the same as facts.
2. Misinformation can be "leaked" as well as accurate information.

We've discussed and argued this topic for months and months, nothing has been settled one way or the other.

The endless supposition and guessing is bad enough, but the judging of Dak when he hasn't signed a $40 mil a year contract is more than a little tiresome.

We'll know soon enough, how about we just sit back and wait?

Actually, Stephen referenced this a couple of years ago. Where some agents don't always have their client's overall best interest in mind, keyword some. He noted he met and worked with a lot of good ones but like with anything else there are some bad ones out there.

Fanboyism. It's a mental illness. You only like the player because he plays for your team but at some point the player becomes more important and you start to root for his success even to the detriment of the team.
*Philly's got( or had) that one nightmare SOB on their Defense that I've grown to admire ,,,he was either #56 or #96 ( can't rightly recall) but he was always like the unaccounted for flat tire of yer' road trip when we'd play them*

You've earned yourself a kiss on the lips. Tongue/no tongue, your choice.
