Dak didn't say it, his agent did so your post is moot.

Okay, say his agent said it. Dak employs that agent. He's paid to represent him and negotiate for him. Anything he says about Dak that Dak doesn't refute means Dak agrees with it or he wouldn't have said it.

It's been awhile but Mahomes deal also left KC with a ton of flexibility didn't it? Dak can't get paid like that and limit the years on his contract. He will put us in too tight of a spot.

The Mahomes contract was a good overall deal for the Chiefs, so I've heard.

According to this February tweet by Rappaport, they're gonna tag Dak if they can't reach a deal. IMO they'll simply tag him and see how the leg holds up while rolling with Gilbert as the backup. Then restructure some deals along the way for fence repair.

Team Identity? What Identity? What was our record with Dak starting for us in 2019 and 202 (prior to injury) Its not like we were a powerhouse.

No way I pay him Mahomes money... he isnt even in the top 5 QBs. The Chiefs payed the guy we universally accept as the best young player in football.... a transcendent player..... Dak is not that.

No he is not Mahomes, but he is a top 10 QB. And letting Dak walk starts your rebuild now. When I speak of identity, I mean Dak is your unquestioned leader and face of the franchise. Players love him. You let him walk you are losing more than just a QB— your are losing the heart of your team. Like it or not— Dak is a huge part of this team.

But let’s say you do admit defeat and start the rebuild. A rookie QB will take some time to develop and is not a sure thing. Paying a vet QB is going to cost some $$$ too... so you are spending resources on this position either way. Therefore, I still land on signing Dak is our best option to compete for the next 3 years.

So if Dak wants 50 million for 3 years and all of it guaranteed you say pay him?

No one knows what his asking price is. Mahomes AAV is 45 mil per on a huge multi year contract. Dak wants to be paid “right behind him”. That tells me we are looking at 40 mil for 3 years— 100+ guaranteed.

Yes. I pay that. I shower him with love and say how much we appreciate him and are proud of him and excited about the future. And I also give myself an easy way out in year 3 if he stinks it up.

Either Dak is legit and steps up and will be worth that money— or he fails to lead us to becoming a legit contender and we move on after giving him all the support we could to help him succeed.

What is the point of tagging Dak for another year ? He isn't taking this team to a SB next season. What do we gain ? Dak isn't going to accept less after another tag year.

Dak's image of 'the good guy' is so hilarious right now... And the Jones 'disrespecting' Dak is even more comical. And his fans think what his brother and friends posted, aren't what Dak actually believed.

And BTW, Dak's only play-off win came with Linehan, who had the smarts to know to feed Zeke to completely tire out the DL of Seattle and then call a QB draw that had a hole so wide-open, Jerry's yacht could have fit threw, when Collins ran basically like 10 yards up field, the first man he touched the DB.

Bwahahaha! Mahomes won more playoff games in one year than Dak has in his career. Two SB appearances and one win.

Not seeing the similarity between the two.

If I was Jerry, this would be it. Hello non-exclusive tag.

Dak-fans still making excuses like Dak didn't walk into the best OL and RG in the league and that he was in circumstances similar to Romo.

And pretty much set records for bringing his team back from deficits at half-time all the way to the SB.

Dak is not naive. He's been saying he wouldn't take a pay-cut for years and said other players getting their money, doesn't mean he can't, especially with the NFL allowing gambling revenue. Stephen should have not made the play for Cooper, so we could see Dak shine in all his 'franchise carrying' glory.

And before this season, all his fans though this team was stacked and SB-bound and now they are blaming Jerry. They were even laughing at Wentz to begin the season, while Dak was putting up garbage-time stats. Then they tell us, if Dak was playing this season, we would have made the play-offs, while now they are blaming Jerry, because Dak thinks he's Mahomes.

LOL you'll still get people on here defending greedy millionaires because they dislike billionaire owners.

Goodbye, Dak. You're a flash in Cowboys history.

What did Dak do to you? Where did he hurt you at?

The nonexclusive franchise tag is now the only option.

Dak is playing the garbage-time stats angle, while Dalton played with a garbage OL and like 10-15 different starting line-ups and no Martin for even a quarter and still played better in a game for the play-offs.

The Jones should just play Dak's performance against the Eagles in 2019 against third-string CB scrubs on the big HD screen, while they tell him to get lost and test the market.

Simple... His brother and friends on twitter confirm it, but his fans think that isn't Dak's view either. Dak flat-out used the word respect in his interview. They also, you know, played the other card as well. And Dez, the buffoon, came out and backed Dak in the same context, while Dak threw him under the bus.

Dak has been saying these things since day 1:

https://bleacherreport.com/articles...give-dallas-hometown-discount-on-new-contract

“For somebody to say you can only take so much because of the salary cap or you can only do this or that, I don’t know how fair that is to say. Because with gambling, with everything going into this league, everything is going to continue to keep going up.

“It’s important for all these guys to get every bit of their worth. I want to see [Ezekiel Elliott] the highest paid. I want to see Amari [Cooper] the highest paid. I want to see myself up there. And I don’t think any of that is too far-fetched. Because at the end of the day, when it’s all said and done, a year or two later, you’re not going to be the highest paid. That’s just the way the game goes.”

Dakota wants just about the same money of a winning SB MVP QB. Dakota wants to get paid shy of a Talented ELITE QB with TWO SB appearances .... No wonder why he sells Sleep Number mattresses, he is dreaming!!!

Don't forget, one game away from a third, the only reason he wasn't, is because Brady had the ball last.
