Dan is right about the Dak situation, but I have to tune out anytime his hero Wentz is brought up.…..somebody been listening to Dan Orlovsky.

You're not overpaying, you paying the increase of the market. Just as you would in any job/business.
He has done an awful job, always leaving gaping holes, overpaying stars, and emphasizing the wrong positions.....and look at the job he has done so far with that....so why continue the downward trend of paying players millions to see no reward for the millions.....it has to end before they do a major mistake in signing Dak.
I can promise you that my opinion was not mainstream at the end of his 4 year deal.
Now people are slowly figuring out what I projected a long time ago.
It doesn't matter though because the owner in the end will be stupid and pay up. Dak's agent knows this but it's still the wrong move.
They don't become Stars until they're overpaid. Ninety-five percent of this forum was all over Jerry telling him to sign Zeke.He has done an awful job, always leaving gaping holes, overpaying stars, and emphasizing the wrong positions.
It's on Jerry that he overpaid to begin w/. A GM must be able to let players walk. Jerry cannot.

Now that Ewok hasn't worked out (after pay day ironically), it's Jerry's fault for overpaying him. The man just can't win. No pun intended lol
Oh what the heck dear. Let's dance a salsa.Jerry will ultimately end his football career as a failure. His overall career won't be seen as such, but the final moments will be.
Give him the Non exclusive tag and see what the market for Dak is. The numbers are speculation. What isn't speculation is they can't get a deal done.
The team famously wants him to sign a 5 year deal. His team wants a 4 year deal so he can get back to free agency faster.
So probably not actually.
Paying him 2nd best money this year doesn’t define him as 2nd best QB.Is that you Dak?
What he wants is not market, and he's not the 2nd best QB in the league. He's a good QB but he's not 2nd best QB. Period.
HOW???????? JJ's done a great job with these negotiations, he's stood his ground and he'll either get the team friendly deal or he'll be drafting a QB with the Cowboys 1st pick in this year's draft. Prescott hasn't lead this team anywhere, big deal he's thrown up big stats the last couple of seasons against weak *** teams, but stats don't win championships, team players do!At 40 million or 41 million per year average, were at the ridiculous point. If that is truly where we are.
Jerry could have had this wrapped up for 35 million or a little less two years ago and 35 million just last year and he blew it. So if he has to pay upwards of 40 million, then he blew it.
On the surface, it looks like Dak cares about maximizing his money. If all this salary conjecture is really true. His determination to maximize his money 3 years from now with the TV contract shows again, that we will have to do this all over again, and the numbers will be even more crazy. If the rumors are true.
Problem is we have NO other options at the moment.
Cutting Dak for nothing is just dumb. Simply cant do that. You either sign Dak 3 years and work on his replacement during that time or you trade him.
Giving away the rights to Dak is NOT an option.
Here are the options I see that make any sense:
-Sign Dak, play out the next 3 years, continue to build the defense and team around the QB
-Sign Dak, at some point trade him while you build the defense and team around the QB
-trade him now before the draft
Options that make ZERO sense:
-Let Dak walk
-let Dak play on the tag this year and let him walk
Either way, this Jerry/Dak contract is to the point of total stupidity. Needs to be done with already one way or the other.

Lightning can strike twice.............The only difference is going to be the new rookie is going to kick *** for seasons to come, unlike Dak who njuts up against AVERAGE TEAMS. As a matter of fact the rooki they take will have an outstanding college record against rated teams, something Prescott struggle BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!held his ground to 5 years instead of 4? Thats holding the wrong way. And a rookie is going to lead this rabble somewhere? LOL
Who knows, maybe he will win rookie of the year and lead his team to a 13-3 record and 11 wins in a row.
NAME the very fewYou're making stuff up. Very few people wanted to pay him two years before his contract was up.
So are you. You're making stuff up. Very few people wanted to pay him two years before his contract was up.
It's not a smart option to give Dak the money that has been reported. Its just not a smart option.
NAME the very few
So are you.
EXACTLY WHO are the very few people?
Message Board wanna be's?
Seriously??
Reality awaits you......
This really could work out for the best. Zeke's own arrogance and stupidity may end up keeping Jerry from making the mistake of extending Zeke, which he seemed hell-bent on making.
Dare we be that optimistic?
But one thing I will say, if they wanted to put any sort of a scare in Elliott's camp, signing a young, hungry back like Jay Ajayi would have done a better job of it than signing "team friend" Alfred Morris.
He's not forcing my hand either "from and agonizing standpoint" I will welcome him back if or when he returns or move on without him if he doesn't.
this was always obvious.
zeke has no leverage here.
as good as he is, his job doesnt even start til week 1.
this team is used ot slow starts and cares about how it finishes not how it starts so this has been absurd agent advice.
if anything zeke should be in camp but merely whispering we wont play week 1 without a deal.
going to cabo is a slap in the face to his teammates and tone deaf.
