Management couldn’t even take advantage of Dak when he was only making $465k a year........ This is a key to why they should not sign dak to big deal,
and also why it doesnt matter if they do LOL.
People still think that Dallas can win a sb with dak, in next few years, paying him 40 mil a year, but if they could not get past div round when he was
dirt cheap , how are they going to win anything now or in near future ???????

Also when dak was dirt cheap, we had a very good OL, and ewok was better than he is now. And even the defense was better then.
The only thing better now is the wr's and TE's.

Better to just face facts, dallas cowboys missed the whole 4 year window with a cheap dak ! All they could muster was get to div round twice and lose.
That window is now gone!
The only way to open a new window is get a new cheap QB, and this time actually spend some money on FA defenders and take a shot.

Cowboys just threw away cap money on ewok, and swiper ! And now they will probably spend more on DAk.
I think they just about have to tag dak and play him again this year, they can use either tag, and at least they will be competitive.
But I dont see them getting past div round anytime soon.
I don’t want them to sign Dak. I want Dak to have a chance. Cowboys don’t have a chance

You know what I find amazing? Dak has become so much better after his injury than he ever was. He's not an elite quarterback. He's not even close to elite. People are talking about 2 first round picks.

I think Romo fell just short of being an elite QB. I wouldn't argue with someone that said he was. How quick did Jerry pay him? If Dak was anything close to Rodgers, Brees, Mahomes, this deal would have been done 3 years ago. Dak is a good QB. A Camaro is a good sports car. But I wouldn't pay 60k for one. That's the problem right now.

I remember thinking that when Romo was negotiating his last deal, his friends should have been telling him to get out. As it turned out, they surprisingly *had* a chance in 2016, and surprisingly again (to me at least) didn't give it to Tony.
But being a Cowboy likely had a lot to do with his announcing deal. He made out financially.
Dak will make out ok financially too. Doubt that he'll get a 2016 team ever again, though. Much like Tony, really. Probably will have his best team around him his first year starting.
Tony had TO, Glenn, and Witten. Jackpot. *And* a defense. Dak had 3 All Pro olinemen and and All Pro RB, and an All Pro Lee. Never gonna match that again. Since then no one but Zach has made All Pro.

You’re intolerant of differing opinions, much like most of the country. You fit right in. Don’t worry. There is no
Counter argument to it.

I explained why it's a mistake to pay Dak 40+ million. I'm asking why you think it's a good idea. Your passive aggressive accusations are kind of sad.

I don’t care what opinion you have on paying Dak. My comment had nothing to do with your opinion, rather your intolerance for other opinions and accusing people of being Dak fans instead of Cowboys fans because they don’t think like you.

It's really not. Overpaying players leads to mediocrity. I'm on the fence about him myself.

It is my opinion that if someone wants Dak to be paid 40+ million, they are more fans of Dak than the Cowboys. You seem to be intolerant of that. I guess you fit right into current culture as well.

We could do that dance all day. It's a forum designed for stating opinions. Get over it.

..It's the length of the contract with Dak, and always has been ..He wanted 4 years like his counterparts Goff and Wentz...JJ refused and refuses to budge still I suppose...That was years ago though, and JJ could have gotten Dak on the cheap. Now Dak probably wants a 3yr deal...and JJ and Stevie probably will continue to play hardball. Ya see they let Brian Jones walk, paid Zeke early, paid Smith and Lawrence big contracts, leaving to deal with the QB last....and now they are worried about the cap!?!...smh...I don't trust JJ and son one bit, so I see them Franchising Dak again....and then the search for a decent QB crapshoot saga begins again!

Fair enough. It is my opinion you are more of a fan Jerry Jones and an excel spreadsheet than you are of the Dallas Cowboys winning.

It is my opinion that you are full of it.

Dak is not worth what you want to pay him. You refuse to consider the possibility that you are wrong. Which makes you worthless to have a discussion with.

and what if he wont sign the tag till june? lol
he wont take 35, and he wants 3 year deal.
so then we use him and let him go..tired of this if he does that he will lose the rest of the fans that are in the middle..Daks already lost many and this has become a joke..i no longer care whether he stays or goes,..hes turned down great deals with life changing money and wants to continue to play hardball..

Im over it we get guy like Dalton or another vet like fitz or ASmith to fill the hole in TC and what not and if he signs late we still try and trade him..

i went from big dak fan t on the fence and now about to slide to the group that says let him go..we need to take draft pics and start looking for his replacement..

if he pulls that BS and at draft day hes not signed the tag , im taking a QB at 10 and move the leverage to outside so a draft pick add a vet , and then trade dak for the right price ..Jerry cant be scared to start over , cant let dak who is around 6-10 qb rating continue to force a #2 in the league payday, hes not worth penny over 35 and if team friendly doesnt register with him, i say as hardcore DC fan, hes not our guy..

2016 reboot sounds familiar and worked out..its tough to let go but looing around the league other teams let theirs go and will survive..focus on defense in FA and draft from 2-7 rounds

yup ive moved from big dak fan to on the fence and now about to slide off the other side because hes holding our team hostage , if 35 mil and 110 mil guaranteed and jerry asking for 5 years for team stability isnt enough for him, hes not my guy.. a qb rated 6-10 holing out for top 2 money and top 5 isnt enough smacks of greed..he has every right to get all he can but at some point enough is enough..

Tuesday cant get here fast enough, curiosity on a deal or which tag and how long dak holds us hostage by not signing the tag is nerve racking..

Let him leave is the only option for people that want to trade him. That tag does not show his true value. All it shows is that a lot of teams don't want to part with two first round picks. You want true offers coming in? Transition tag him. But that's kind of pointless this time around.
