If Dallas hadn't lucked into Tony Romo and Dak Prescott this team would have seen a revolving door of Chad Hutchinsons, Drew Hensons and Quincy Carters. We should all be terrified as fans of what happens when that luck runs out.
If your uncle had different body parts he would be your aunt.

I went with $35-39 million. That's the market for quarterbacks these days. Is it too much? Of course it is. But every QB in the league is overpaid.

It's time we realize that instead of arguing whether Dak is worth it or not. Because if Dallas doesn't throw riches at him another team will.

Wow, as of right now, there are 39 people who are not Cowboys fans, they're Dak Prescott fans.

Amazing.

I thought it would be interesting to gauge where Cowboys fans stand at the moment on Dak's contract negotiations.

So, what is the max per year average contract amount you would offer Dak?
I give him (2) Three year contracts..2021 at 3 yrs for
39 million..then in 2022 Dak goes to $43 mil.

After that they can pause and decide about the next contracts. What has occurred is that nether party seems me to not want deal. So I expect anything at this point. I think the one who stays firm will win.

The fact that 16% of people want to let Dak leave without an alternative is peak stupidity.
Overpaying drastically IS worse. Face it, with the D the way it is we are two to three years away from having a top 10 D which is what you need to win it all.
So letting Dak walk now rather than overpay him is the smart thing to do.

Dak is a good QB. He sometimes plays better than good. Other times he plays really poorly.

Dak wants Mahomes money. Mahomes might be twice as good as Dak. Dak might be three times as good as the worst starter in the league,

Some people might reasonably argue you don't pay Dak who is half as good as Mahomes 98 percent of Mahomes' salary. Its pretty simple and non emotional.
Stop talking about Mahomes money. The poll has options ranging from 25 million all the way to 40+

Dak is without a doubt worth 25 million a year. It's personal to these guys cause even at 1 million a year they complained. That's why they get the label Dak hater, because it's nothing to do with his talent. It's most likely cause he isn't white like Romo, Aikman, White, Staubach, Don etc.

Exactly. The QB market is the QB market.

Why, because they have a different opinion than you do? More than one way to skin a cat.

Please show me in the last 20 years where a SB winning team has paid a QB more than 13% of the cap in that year. Go ahead. I'll wait.

While I wait, here is something for you. The 2021 salary cap is 180 million. 40 million is a hair over 22%. Over a fifth of the cap on ONE PLAYER. The defense needs help. You're not going to afford anything but bargain bin help if Dak gets 40+.

So signing Dak to 40+ torpedoes the team's chances at championships. They might be competitive, but they'll get slaughtered in the playoffs if they even make them. The proof of that is out there.

I'm a fan of Dak. I hope he's the QB for the foreseeable future, but at 40+? No way.

The smell of intolerance for other opinions is strong.

Dear Leader, offering a guess is difficult because of changing dynamics, leverage, and interest by other teams.
In a pinch, I'd say based on an unfortunate series of circumstances for Dak, $25 mil a year.

I can't believe so few want to let him leave. Incredible.
The PR blitz that Todd and Dak have enforced is truly impressive!
From Reporters nationwide to social media the greatness of Dak is sold daily with a vengeance.
The Dak issue has also taken other flavours that really have zero to do with the game of football.
Here's hoping Jerry hangs tough and does what is evident to all non-biased fans.....release Prescott and move on!
