And back in January or February, I was ridiculed by a poster, can’t remember who. But he singled out me and no one else. For saying we should get 4 comp picks.
Said he won’t count them before officially announced, though I showed him proof it would be 4 picks.

I love it. :lmao:

Dalton was pretty good for us. Got very little offseason work with the team, then was thrown in midseason. By the end of the season, had 3 very strong games, then was sacked 6 times in the season finale. Leonard Williams had 3 sacks and 5 more QB hits. (Who was he beating so badly?) Tough row to hoe for Dalton.
But when Dak got killed in Atlanta it was his fault lol. This is what I mean by double standard.

Assuming they use them on defense I don’t have my hopes up.

you know that #10 pick is somewhat of a mystery to me. If no partners happen and were sitting there at 10 with the option of Slater and maybe a CB Im inclined to take Slater as i like the ability to get a decent corner later than a decent Oline. Even though we need defense worse. If Parsons is there Im running that pick up to the commish as quick as i can

I never blamed Dak for Atlanta, it's absurd to do so, and I don't remember anyone doing so.

And just the other day someone pointed out, and I agreed with, that Dak wasn't the problem against the Jets, as he was getting hammered all day and had no healthy, competent WRs to throw to.

Your "double standard" is entirely in your own mind. Wait til you see *the same person* show a double standard before assuming one exists.

You trading up on those picks or you standing pat?

I'm trading up when I can. This draft may be more unpredictable than years past with covid affecting so many teams, and player opt outs. If we could scout as well on defense as offense we'd be gold.

Man I kind of what to trade some of these picks for some veterans if we can. I Just can't get it out of my head how we got Robert Quinn that one.year and Michael Bennett.

Would someone refresh me as to who exactly San Francisco lost to get those picks?

This is good news. 11 total picks.

4 picks in the top 100.

that’s excellent.

6 in the top 150. If we do well, and I realize that's a big if, that's 6 players who should all be heavy contributors in the first two years. That would be very, very helpful if we could hit that goal.

Trade back 10, trade Gallup, and have 6 picks in the top 100. We really do have a lot of ammo to upgrade the defense with, and we've got the premier positions covered with DLaw and Gregory.

A whole lotta wasted money *should* come off the defense too. Jaylon, Crawford, Lee, and all the free agent waste from last year. And Dak's cap hit is coming *down* this year.

With a temporary crunch on the cap and owner's cash flow likely to be followed by a huge cash and cap upsurge with new tv contracts, Deep Pockets Jerry is in a position to take advantage of the crunch this year better than most.

I'm a big time cap penny pincher, but I hope and somewhat expect Jerry to push some cap into the future to take advantage of this big buying opportunity.

Time for some shiny new toys on defense. Doesn't have to be top tier players, but maybe near the top. Probably one or two multiyear contracts for quality defensive starters coming.

And probably one high risk player coming. If anyone will scrape ET out of the bargain bin, it's Jerry, and we do have ET's old DC during two All Pro and SB years as our shiny new DC. Seems inevitable. Certainly the best fit in the league for ET.
Just get the guy that plays in the middle of the DL,, go get the big boy and call it a day,, we all know who that is.
