Is Dez Bryant a lock for the HOF?

I saw a quote from Dez so I posted it.
Yeah, and you bought into it being a debatable topic, because you know NOTHING about football.

Then you begged the mods to delete the thread after everyone laughed at your ignorance.

And now you’re trying to save face.

Geez, how embarrassing.

I just read an article where Dez was saying that he is sure that he is a lock for the HOF because of all the TD's he has caught during his career.

"Nobody put up TD's the way I put up."

His numbers -- 7,506 career receiving yards and 77 total touchdowns -- aren't historically enough to lock him in ... but he is one of the freakiest players to ever play.

Dez tells us what he did in such a short time should be enough to get him in ... but he did admit he's probably not a first-ballot kind of guy at this point.

What you citizens think?
No.

Definition - the negative response to a statement just received.

This is why I told the mods to delete this post. Since it's "not debatable", just delete is what I said.

If the little joker wants to make a big deal out of this, here you are.
That’s not what happened. You originally thought it WAS debatable.

You’re embarrassed by what actually happened.

I must say Jimmy J. was pretty awful for the most part in Miami. Love the guy but he wasn't good there. He hung on to some players there a little too long. Marino was way past his prime and he should have traded him when he got there and drafted a QB.But no way Dez should be in the hall.

The owner forced that. Johnson wanted to replace Marino, but forced to let the QB ride out his career. I think 12 TDs one of those seasons and still brought back.

***** EDIT. Marino finished his career with 12, but in those 4 seasons. 17,16,23,12 These were his TD totals at ages 35 through 38.

Poor Dez, poor Romo...what could have been. It was a catch. Coach said, "I'm outta here".

What's funny is that was a pivotal play in what could've been a HOF career. I say it was a catch, but it just wasn't called that way. But we can't say we didn't expect to lose. We fully did. It's what that team did, it's what that coach did and it's what will keep those guys out of the hall. There was time on the clock. And enough sense to get a first down or get out of bounds eluded all of them as usual. Par for the course. Flung into another never win situation.

Hells Bells he isn't! The HOF has turned into an joke the way they are allowing past players into this club. There use to be something special about a player getting into the Hall but in today's world anyone who put on a uniform qualifies for the Hall. If Drew Pearson had to wait a million years to get into the HOF then Dez shouldn't even be considered.

I seriously doubt he gets into the HOF. He's had only 3 good seasons out of 9 that he played in and that's not anywhere close to good enough to get onto the HOF. He talks about his TD's but he's 122 TD's less that the career holder Rice. Bryant ranks 36th in career TD's with many of those ahead of him not in the HOF.

He maybe a lock for the Cowboys Ring of Honor ( considering he doesn't open his big mouth and offend he Jones) ...but he wasn't a creme of the crop Fitzgerald, Rice, Moss, Owens

and if you look back , you'd think he'd compile more 1,000 yards receiving with working aside a Tony Romo, but he 's only had three in his total career.
His biggest numbers comes in TDs, the jump ball alley ooops and red zone productions

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BryaDe01.htm

besides the TD numbers but could there be a chance he makes the HOF based off
off Cowboys popularity...? ( ditto with Romo)

First, man you posters are mean. The answer is obviously “no” but y’all don’t have to be so nasty! Dez is another Cowboys for Life and I love the kid.

The truth is that he really was HoF bound after his first three years in the league. But being a hall of famer means sustaining it and ideally getting a few championships as well and he did neither.

His body was just not built for it. Dez was the type of receiver that, when his talent started to fade, it was all over. He just couldn’t run all the routes in the route tree so once he lost his athleticism that was all she wrote.

I still maintain that he could come back and contribute as a TE on this team if given the chance.

Dez's body was build for the HOF. He was a freak. His mind was not. He didn't work his craft hard enough to make the most of his years of being a freak, or play effectively when he lost the I'm Just Better Than You advantage.
Even in his young years, I doubted he could last, as he'd look great as he skied, but he'd come down from feet in the air on his hip, his back, his shoulder. Might have lasted longer if he had learned how to spread the impact when he hit the ground, but he never seemed to. I remember him landing on his hip after a jump ball, and he's gimping about after he gets up. I thought then "he's not gonna last long that way".
He had some great years and some great highlites. Another player with his body broken by the Cowboys.

The question is if he had a HOF career...unfortunately, he didn’t. One of the best Cowboys to come through here and should be ROH bound.
