I’m glad the front office prioritized getting secondary guys who just got off their first contract instead of the re-treads we saw last year.

Thought I liked Hooker over Kazee until I looked at the film. Damontae can fly around the back end and for a FS he isn’t afraid to stick his nose in for the cause (see Zeke at the goal line)

I found myself wincing watching Hooker tackle or come near a pile in general.

..sure none are earl Thomas but 3 DL, 3 S, whats next. Maybe quinn has Jerrys ear right now and thats good..

draft still a month away !!
Crazy 5 days ago doesn't equal 20 years of neglecting it, boss.

Draft one and most will think Jed is serious. Maybe.

Archer's on Twitter trying to downplay the Achilles injury since Barry Church came back from it.

I may be at the end of my rope with following this team.

You seem to be the type of fella that is at the end of a lot "ropes".. LOL

Ok, make it real and sign Hooker too. Why not? If healthy put them all on the field. Absolutely cannot be worse than last season.

Nice upside signing. The ball always seems to find him. They must be comfortable with his Medicals, believe Hooker failed.
The Jaguars need a safety as bad as we do and they did not bring Hooker in for a visit. Remember he was an All American with Meyer at Ohio State. It reminds me of when we brought the K.C. safety in for medical a few years back. Hooker must be in real bad shape.

If we are doing these one year deals, we still need to draft the replacement players.

Can't count on replacing everyone this year. Need to try to hit the weakest areas if the draft falls right, then next year, we should be able to address at least some of the areas where we lose players.

DT's --- LB's --- DB's -- OL's

Draft two of each. Then throw in a QB and a TE to complete our draft this year. Is it too early to talk Superbowl?

Agreed. I think they are also doing them because the cap jumps significantly next year, so new deals or extensions can be had then.

The smarter move to make. I wanted Hooker for his potential but let's be real, he'll be hurt at some point and who knows for how long. Still would love to bring him in for the right price and cut Thompson/Parker.

Would be nice to draft another S on day 2 to get playing time behind Kazee and then takeover next season.

I probably wouldn't address the position until the third round. First priority right now is starting corner. Second priority is improving the DTs. I would like to see us take a free safety in the third because we don't have 100 percent assurance that Kazee will be able to bounce back from his injury.

However, a lot depends on how the chips fall. We may not be in a good position to address corner in the first or DT in the first two rounds. If safety is clearly the best player available (which it could be in the second round), I wouldn't hesitate to attempt to improve the position.

Still not getting that DT that is so desperately needed. We ALL yell about it before halftime and here we go again heading into a new season.(yes I know the draft is coming) Our LB's are going to get a workout! I am encouraged by an upgrade at safety and that # 10 pick is important we get that right. Hearing P. Surtain Could be gone and wonder what ol Jerry will do?
They can get a DT in the 2nd or 3rd, or 4th round of the draft and the big guy from Chicago plays inside too.
