restructuring guys like Cooper and Lawrence isn’t mortgaging the future IMO. They aren’t going anywhere anytime soon anyway.

Perhaps the term “window” wasn’t the right phrase. Really they should be more aggressive than they have been this off season. They should be aggressively trying to fix the damn defense while the offense is at the top of its game. There are no guarantees the offense stays one of the best in the league for any stretch of time.

They should be aggressively trying to get the defense better as fast as possible. IMO. They’ve just been too passive in recent years. And it’s cost them.

Seems like they've been aggressive in getting Quinn the kind of role players he uses, but not so aggressive in pumping money into free agency. Also brought in 2 of his own. He should get the vast majority of the draft capital too.

That's plenty of aggression for his first year here, IMO. Let him see what he already has here before making major purchases in free agency.

I'm still surprised there's been on talk about ET.

A potential landing spot for the 2016 Pro Bowler could be in the Lone Star State. Wright praised the leadership of his former defensive coordinator in Seattle, Dan Quinn, who was hired under head coach Mike McCarthy in January.

He also said mentioned Dallas has been one of his “dream” destinations.

"Dallas has certainly always been on my list of 'dream teams,''' Wright said. "With coach Dan Quinn there, and with other aspects of that team and that defense, I do think it's one of the teams I fit in with.''

I can totally see LVE sitting. I think Jaylon is the better player (at worst they are the same). LVE will likely be injured and miss several games anyway.

My prediction? Jaylon and LVE both have bounce back years, mostly because that aside from trade or injury, there’s nowhere to go but up.

Lee should probably retire, but if he doesn’t, I think we could get a decent group out of the following:

Wright
Lee
Jaylon
LVE
Neal
Gifford
Bernard
Draft
FA or Draft

That makes full sense.

They can't be covered any worse than last year.

Id still say.....lets suppose they step it up to be 80% of what they each were in 2018.....that LVE is not worth the 9m option and Smith is still underperforming the contract.

Its good business to replace both after this season regardless IMO.

I dont at all think the team is thinking that way though.

I think they’ll draft a LB somewhere in the first three rounds. If Neal works out and Gifford steps up, they can dump Jaylon and LVE if they want. Just draft another LB in 2022.

Just speculating, though! I’m no GM!✌

I'd love to get KC Wright but it's tough to picture our FO awarding what it'd take!

I suspect we'll just hope LVE survives in 2021 and draft a MLB, just in case.

LVE has freakish instincts that Jaylon could only dream of possessing. Why do you think Jaylon is better?

I can see LVE being a post 6/1 cut. $1.6M in dead money, but $2.0M in cap savings.

That would mean yet another ‘Taco level of failure’ for a 1st round pick. In back-to-back years no less.

I would be shocked to see them get rid of LVE early. The only way I see that is through some sort of injury/retirement situation.

I’ll add in that I think Nolan’s awful schemes did NOBODY any favors. His subtraction should be beneficial to virtually every defensive player.

Waste of money having him sit. Based on current salaries for inside linebackers, $9 million would still make LVE one of the 10-15 highest paid players at his position. Too costly. He'll be released.

I haven't seen any instincts out of LVE since his rookie season. He misses tackles at an alarming rate and he's fragile.
