#10? No way in hell. He's not anywhere near a top 10 player, which doesn't mean he can't do it all, but he's still a reach at 10

Take him where you want but he can do it all. The only issue I have with how high you take a player is cap. So if you want to say that you wouldn't do it because of cap implications, then I would say to you, OK, tell me what you are thinking. But outside of that, I don't care where you take a player, unless of course, you are a kicker or a punter.

Not sure why you would take Collins at #10, even if he is your guy you move back to where he will be taken and gain extra draft capital.

If Pitts or Sewell fall you take them, that’s the bottom line. Use 44 on McNeil or the Tulsa kid. And try to move up and get a 2nd-3rd round corner or two. Plenty to choose from, Minnesota, Stanford, UCF, Michigan St, Kentucky. Don’t be surprised that one of them ends up being better than the prize 3.

I think McNeill would be there but I think Collins is long gone by 44.

Just skimmed through eight mocks. One emerging trend is Atlanta trading down with teams wanting to insure they get one of the QBs left after Lawrence and Wilson go 1-2, and the 49ers grab Fields \ Lance \ Jones (yes- I saw a mock with the former Tide signal caller going there).
A second trend is the top 10 picks have good chance to be all on offense; LB Parsons was penciled at 7th once (Lions) and 9th twice (Broncos), while Surtain II showed up at no. 9 one time (Broncos).
And the third trend - Surtain II looks to be the only other defensive player chosen in the top ten -- and the majority of the selections have him headed to Dallas.

I would love for someone to fall in love with a player who's on the board at #10 and trade up to get him.

so a guy who grades hundreds of players every year for the last 30+ got one “wrong” 16 years ago so his opinion is garbage?

got it

:facepalm::facepalm:

Kiper gets some wrong in every round in every draft. That was just one that came to mind. If you look at other comments here you'll see there are quite a few that hold the same opinion of Kiber as I do. If you like him fine, but that doesn't mean anyone or everyone else has to like him or trusts his opinions. Everyone makes mistakes but he never admits any of his and acts like he's right all the time.

Can you show me any draft expert in the last 20 years who has not got “some wrong in every round in every draft”?

Implies, not infers.

I'm on Team Trade Down. We have so many needs, and the top defensive players just aren't a thrill to me. I don't like huge spend on CBs or LBs.

Trade down for 10, straight up, are two late-round 1sts. A 10 is a *lot* of value. Don't spend it for just a good player. Should get someone special, or move back. I don't see special with the defenders.
I'm for this as long as Pitts isn't there. You draft a generational talent if you can, especially when NY and/or Philly will scoop him up if you don't.

Think it depends on the draft and what players are available, heard about a generational D player being drafted #2 last year.

QB's always get hyped but for TE to being talked about in the first 4 picks is rare, think there has been something like 6 taken in the first round in the last decade and they are talking about Pitts in the first 4 picks.
Again, not trying to say Pitts is or is not a generational talent. I have not put in the work this year, so I can draw an informed conclusion.

Just pointing out how "generational talent" seems to be the buzz word in this draft and that just because "everyone" hypes up a player to be whatever the buzz word is that year does not make it true or even a smart choice.

One way or another, whoever Dallas does take will have to prove it on the field regardless of what they were or were not labeled during the draft.

It makes sense when you have so many offensive weapons.

Pitts will not be the #1, #2, or #3 option on 95% of the plays called.

A generational talent that will be under utilized doesn't make sense.

A defensive player that will play every down and be a force on defense that makes the team better, that makes sense.

You know you got a historic roster when even a generational talent is no better than the 4th option on 95% of the plays.

One thing I've learned over the years is that the vast majority of fans don't have a clue of what the NFL draft is all about.

Coming off the worst Cowboys defense Ever.. picking anyone on defense at 10 won’t be a reach. Trust me
Yes it would, think back to last year when everyone wanted Chaisson of Lamb just because he played Defense

I would recommend you go take a look at Pitts for no other reason then it will be a enjoyable watch, special player.

I want to imagine having the cognitive dissonance to see a team score 38 and have the defense give up 49 and somehow think that it falls on the QB.

Then again there is nothing more telling of a low football IQ then trying to make wins into a QB stat. It is basically the giant red flag that the person does not know football.

Not only are wins a QB stat, wins are the most important QB stat. Most important are wins in big games. There are a few exceptions when teams have a great defense like the Bears or the offense of the 90s super bowl Cowboys.

The QB touches the ball on every offensive play. The QB audibles, the QB progresses through his reads. The QB sets the tone early, score early and get the lead. The QB knows when to go hurry up and when to slow it down. The QB has to be clutch on 3rd down. The QB has to know when to take a sack, when to not risk a turnover. The QB has to know how to respond on offense when the defense is off. The QB processes input from the players in the huddle. Needs to know who is hot, who is not. The QB controls the game more than any other player.

QBs who do the above well will have winning records. QBs who consistently do the above are elite.

Dak is not elite. His most elite season was his rookie year when the team leaned on Elliott and the OL. Dak only drove the bus that year.

You mention one game, the Cleveland game. Care to look at the other 4 games? How about the last 4 years?

I could live with that as well the only problem is finding a partner. Id be ok with Parsons,Pitts ,slater or Surtain just not sure any of them are best value at 10

10 win teams worry about draft value, 6 win teams worry about getting to 10 wins.

He's not a TE, he's a big body receiver
hes for sure hybrid but not much different then big SPECIAL receivers like Megatron, Julio and for sure Pitts reminds me of Mike Evans..he wont be there but should he be we have options to trade him to many bidders and get a lot of daft picks or take him and trade gallup for more draft picks to take defenders ie use these pics package them move up for multiple 2nd round picks..
