Have to check, but did Miami make that trade up before or after Pitts pro day?
Not sure, but it was more or less done right after the trade down. I think staying in the top 6 or whatever was their goal regardless. Personally I think they take the Alabama WR. The one that won the Heisman

I was very Anti-Pitts until i remembered that it seems the Cowboys struggle scoring TDs in Redzone. Dak can always drive right down the field but struggles when close to the end zone. So i looked up 2019 stats, and within 10 yards, Dak was in 27th place in passing stats right behind Dalton on the Bengals. Could be coaching but its something to think about.

Cowboys struggle close to the endzone because they always try to run ZEke right up the middle and its not effective. Everyone knows whats coming and Zeke isnt capable of doing much more than putting his head down.

But yah, Pitts would be a heck of a GL option and 3rd down target for Dak. The guy is stud no doubt. Maybe if they do take him it will finally end the Zeke era in Dallas and convince everyone that the passing game is the future in Dallas.

If the team is looking solely at 2021, they might pass on Pitts. But that would be extremely foolish. Gallup is gone after this year and Pitts could well be the best player in this draft.

It’s a moot point though, he won’t be there at 10. Not after this pro day.

If you trade Cooper and Gallup or at least Cooper and use that money on the D, then it makes much more sense.

Look behind Dak and you'll see #21. He should be the one scoring at the amount they are paying him.

yes Pitts fall you have options you are in the driver seat trade him to someone who really wants him badly enough to give you more then the going rate in draft picks to get him, then go down and still get a CB or Safety in the first where they were valued best anyway..now you have extra picks for defense..or take him and trade Gallup for 2nd or third possibly and still get picks that you cam package and move back up to get your target Cb/FS in the first plus some..

one way or the other we have some power at 10 if Pitts falls to us..

I rather take defense and hope hes gone but this intrigues me that we could have some options and leverage should he fll..could be an exciting draft

forgive me i just watched Draft Day last night..crazy moves are fresh in my mind..

look to the sidelines at boise boy wonder hes not designing nor calling plays to give 21 the best scoring options also look ahead at the OL that was a mess last year.. get over the 21 hate there are far more issues causing 21 to appear in decline. Most is on Moore, period he changed this offense and identity in 21 which coincides and contradictory to what our identity and no coincidence right after Elliott got paid..not EE fault all this happened the last 2 seasons..

his decline is way overblown..hate all you want, facts and proof are right in front of you..

Issues in order

Kellen moore
Play calls
Ol

4. Zeke yes his fumbles hurt but truly i saw many signs many games he still hd a lot of old 21 in him..

Dallas and Dak would do fine in the red zone with better play calling. Stop trying to trick people.
Red zone—
  • RPO
  • Run between the tackles with Zeke or outside with Pollard
  • Look for TE or follow Cooper as he shakes free at some point.
Stop forcing the back shoulder fade, unless you have a huge target like Dez.
And never call the F-ing reverse down there again

exactly the biggest change in our identity came in 2019 with KM taking over and trying to make dak a superstar in pass happy offense and little effort is being used to design better run games and run plays, sometimes i swear KM is calling Fullback run plays from the 90s for zeke..its utterly ridiculous..

more time and effort needs to go into run scheming as the offensive looks' disjointed one arm is trying to be cute and unique in pass plays and the other arm is stuck on vanilla run plays..they need to be ONE and play off each other..

Don't forget that Pitts didn't participate in the Cotton Bowl against the Sooners. I believe that it was voluntary on his part, and if so, it is a red flag of sorts. As a teammate, you need to be with your team in big games.
It’s quite common to do this. Every team who has potential first round picks, often sit out bowl games.

Pitts might get at minimum 12 td's for us this year in the red zone as a rookie..and thats worst case scenario. This guy makes you defend every patch of turf on every down. Makes life easier for the oline, Dak and Zeke. Opens up the entire offense even more. It also helps the defense because you then make the opposing offense more predictable. That is to any defenses benefit.

It's not Dak who struggles in the red zone. It's the idiotic play calling by Moore & the players can't get open.

I am all aboard the Pitts train and have been fore awhile, but sadly the very small chance i thought he had of falling to our pick is all gone. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he is the first none QB taken in the draft.

Or the Eagles. They have plenty of draft capital to move up ahead of us. After the beating Howie took last year, I'm thinking that's exactly what they'll do.

How many TE's do the Eagles need? But yes, they would.

I mean it could also be that Dallas does not have great redzone WRs, but has a solid running game so they were always going to lean on that when in 1st and goal situations. Though anything to get people on the Pitts wagon is great because I will pound the table hard for him. He is WR speed (the man ran a 4.44 40 with TERRIBLE form) combined with Gronk hands and the largest catching radius we have seen in 20 years. The man is a beast.

The Cowboys do not have a great red zone receiver on the roster.. But that has not seemed to have deterred Moore from shifting into 5-wide empty backfield any time we get within sniffing distance of the goal line. Our mindset down close SHOULD be hand it to Zeke 4 times and see if they can stop us.. But it absolutely hasn't been under Moore.

The Cotton Bowl wasn't a big game to the Gators. It was an exhibition. As are all the bowl games not in the playoff that year. I don't like kids opting out but I do understand it. If someone asked you to risk tens of millions of dollars to put on an exhibition would you? As for his teammates.. Almost all of his draft eligible teammates opted out.. so I think they were cool with it. Kids who are going to go pro opting out of non-playoff bowl games is going to be the new normal and us fans need to get used to it. As I said.. I don't like it.. but I understand.

Before. Not sure if they’re targeting Chase or Pitts, but IMHO they’re likely to go 5 and 6 to the Bengals and Dolphins, in no particular order.
With QBs expecting go at 1-2-3, the key spot is #4 - currently held by the Falcons. Although TE Hayden had a decent first year there (56 rec, 571 yds, 6 TDs), adding Pitts would keep the passing game at a high level with Calvin Ridley a rising star and Julio Jones declining. But the new HC & GM could prefer to trade down and receive a haul in extra picks.

I assume this is sarcasm? Pitts absolutely ceiling would be 12 TD's his rookie year on any team in the league. When is the last time a rookie scored 12 TD's at WR or TE?
