Any way for the Cowboys get Slater, Farley, and Moehrig?

Quinn went to Holland’s pro day. I think he’s the safety target

You're wrong.

Moehrig is a Strong Safety.

We already have 2-3 Strong Safeties. We need a Free Safety.

SUMMARY: A two-year starter at TCU, Moehrig was the free safety in head coach Gary Patterson’s 4-2-5 base scheme, lining up versus the slot or to the field side. He was one of the most productive defensive backs in college football the last two seasons with 26 passes defended and six interceptions in 22 games (and only two touchdowns allowed), taking home the Jim Thorpe Award in 2020. Moehrig was a high school cornerback and wide receiver, which is reflected on his TCU tape, where he displayed natural instincts and feel when the ball is in the air. While he is quick to trigger against both the pass and the run, he is missing an explosive finishing gear and lacks an ideal build, leading to durability concerns. Overall, Moehrig is a versatile, athletic ballhawk with the play range and anticipation to pattern-match in coverage in the mold of Jessie Bates. He projects as an immediate NFL starter (single-high or split-safety) and special-teams contributor.

Teven Jenkins is better than Slater.

Caleb Farley is a big question mark due to his health.

Moehrig is a Strong Safety. We don't need a Strong Safety. We need a Free Safety.

I think Jenkins is a better choice just based on where I think he will get drafted. He is going to be picked the last 3rd of the first round. Great value pick, IMO. I think Slater is a little overrated by those putting him in the top 10 or 12.

The film doesn't lie. Anyone can write whatever they wish, but film truly shows what kind of a safety Trevon Moehrig truly is: hash/box type of Safety. In other words, a Strong Safety very similar to our very own Donovan Wilson.

We need an actual true Free Safety, not another Strong Safety.

I think this would top or rival the 2016 draft where we got Zeke, Jaylon, and Dak.

These 3 players would be instant starters and huge upgrades. I’m super high on all 3 of them and I think they have massive upside, do you see a path or scenario where we walk away from the draft with these 3 players or perhaps just 2 of them?
We could not get all three unless we trade future picks.
Its possible to get 2 though

Zeke and Jaylon were both bad picks.

For the last time, he isn't a box safety, he is the #1 FS prospect in the draft.

Certain guys I trust year after year and they always know the interest. Take Parsons and Slater off your mind. Cowboys not feeling those two.

Seems to jive with other reports that say it appears the Cowboys think there is one elite OL in this draft - Sewell - and they’d take him at 10.

You are wasting your time with America’s Cowboy.

And he links a video where it shows The kid rarely playing in the box. The guy who made the video calls him a box safety just once but almost all the highlights are him not actually in the box.

Quit your typical rants. The highlights rarely showed Moehrig playing deep. He was mostly playing the hashes and close to the line of scrimmage. That's a box safety, not a free safety.

Moehrig doesn't have the speed (4.52) to be a natural Free Safety. He can be beat playing single high and being tasked to cover a much faster and quicker WR. Yes, he played various Safety positions for TCU, but due to his lack of speed, he's more comfortable playing in a 2 deep zone coverage, in the box or close to the line of scrimmage. Plus, he's terrible in run support since he's not one who is willing to get physical when making a tackle against a ball carrier.

I see a lot of red flags with Moehrig. I hope we don't take him.

Indulge me. If Moehrig isn’t the best FS in the draft and he isn’t even a FS, who is in this draft?

You are right about being a poor tackler, but many of the scouts believe he has the necessary range, instincts and ball skills to be an effective single high, free safety, although he was more deep halves. Many compare him to Jessie Bates from Cincy.

Slater is a top 10 talent, won't get past the chargers. The guy dominated Chase Young, that says a lot. If Sewell is gone Dallas goes Slater.

Harrison Smith was a 4.5 safety too. So was Earl Thomas

So they are definitely going OL at 10?
