You make these types of moves when you don't have a Terence Steele on the roster when you lose your starter.

LOL, yesh i am so glad we got Steele, Knight and the other stooges, i mean studs backing our starters. What would we do without them?

not sure why KC went out to get this guy, didn't they follow the Jones' plan of acquiring depth and backups to plug in there. They could have signed at least 4 jags instead of this pro bowler. revamped the whole OL.

Trade a guy in his contract year for multiple picks. Then go sign another solid guy to play RT. That’s how you do it.

That’s why Baltimore remains elite year in and out.

Great ownership and even better front office

By the traditional value chart, the Ravens netted the equivalent of the 44th pick.
By more modern value charts, it's more like the 23rd pick.

Doesn't seem like much, but he is in the last year of his contract.

I still think there is upside with Steele. If he gets stronger and greatly improves his foot work and technique, he could be a quality swing tackle in the CFL

What is "several years"? They weren't dominant from 2014-2017? Either way the game is won in the trenches and the Cowboys offensive line has been fine there. Good enough to win.
They have sucked for the last several years. 3 or 4 years. Their last dominant year was Dak and Zeke’s rookie year.

True, and Dak and Zeke have done nothing since...but get that big ol bag of cash.

Cheifs basically got Orlando Brown for the equivalent of the 46th pick in the draft.

Makes you wonder if Blaitmore isn't planning to package some sort of trade-up deal.

That rookie year is so far in the rearview that it should ot even be mentioned at this stage.
To be fair, we probably shouldn't mention the crappy 2017 either.

With some of the league's best weapons and a jag defense, the table is set for dak to put up huge numbers though.
We'll see about Zeke.

That's a steal. Who in the hell is going to be there at #31 that is of his caliber?
True. And when you look at what they gave up in addition to Brown the value is even worse.
Maybe they plan to pkg picks and move up, hard to say.

They now have 21 and 31--which gets them close to Dallas or New York. Maybe Slater? No idea.

I don't understand Browns obsession with "uhh I want left tackle money".

Lane Johnson when he signed his extension was within a million dollars of the highest paid left tackle at the time ? Just because you play right tackle doesn't mean the Ravens aren't giving you at least 20 million a year ? (Brown is making it seem like he's going to get barely 10 million a year by playing right side)

I thought the issue was he wanted to be paid like a left tackle? Either way I make it work. If Stanely gotta play right tackle that's fine but I'm not trading him away for some Chiefs garbage picks.

The Chiefs first or second round pick is not garbage. Good teams don't get so emotionally attached to their players. They weighed their options and understood that they could have pushed Brown into playing this year upset at his role and in the final year is his deal.

Now Baltimore gets immediate pick compensation and better than the compensatory pick. Cowboys fans should be green with envy at how their front office and scouting department is looking forward and always willing to flip an aging veteran for a quality pick. Baltimore rarely picks a player with major injury history or major character questions with picks in rounds 1-3. Because that's what stupid teams do. You pick quality picks especially in rounds 2 and 3 to abuse the slug heads.

Brown will be 25 in May.
