I realize how good Pitts is, but in all his hype and glory, nobody ever speaks of the TE2 in this draft, have only heard his name mentioned once in the past few months.
Pat Freirermuth. Not putting him in Pitts tier, but he should not be dismissed.

See what I think might be at play here isn't that we have interest in adding a legitimate TE. So Freiermuth doesn't factor in here. What Jerry sees isn't a TE, he sees some generational player. That's his attraction, not the fact that the guy plays TE.

If Pitts ends up being like Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Shannon Sharpe, Tony Gonzalez..... would he be worth drafting at 10? Would he be worth giving up this years 1st and next years 3rd for him?

Thats always the question, all the talking heads are saying Pitts is the real deal, so yes its worth it to grab a generational talent at any position as long as it pays off.
Hindsight is always 20/20, so would I be upset if Pitts fell to 10 which he wont, and we took him... no,, Im good with the value and the homerun approach.
I hate the thought of moving up though, the price. If your moving up in this draft in the top ten your playing for a QB,, thats the conservative value, the equity.
It just so happens that in 2021 DRAFT tonight, that a TE is considered by many to be the top talent in this draft class,,, while I see his upside, I disagree that
this team, this roster, has any business trying to chase Pitts potential HOF status,, this is a roster in dire need of trading back and acquiring potential day 2/3 starters.
Pitts would be better served on a team that can win Championships now.

In 2019 the Boys defense was top 15. We lost Byron and Quinn and fell off a cliff. I still think the problem last year was Nolan. His scheme was garbage. I really dont think our D is that bad.

Jerry hasn't had the guts to "shock the world" in a long, long time.

i believe it’s for the better he hasn’t shocked anyone lol he’s done good and bad on impulse. I’m not gonna say everything he’s done has been bad. I just don’t want to trade up for a TE

How will this be shocking the world? We all know Jerry loves the attention and headlines more than actually winning and solid moves. He had to be forced to pick Zach Martin over Manziel in 2014 and even admitted it was the "boring" pick. We also know Jerry cares much more about offense than defense. And the Cowboys love drafting an abundance of TE's.

Does he know something or is he just speculating? The direct quote is that Jerry has “something up his sleeve that's going to shock everyone”.

Fisher is reporting it though the original source is here: https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/kyle-pitts-2021-nfl-draft-philadelphia-20210428.html

Boys and girls, IT’S HAPPENING!!

Hey if Jerry could turnaround and get rid of Gallup, Cooper, and Zeke and get at least a couple 2nd rounders out of it, I will be all for it.

But we know perfectly well that Jerry isnt capable. Gallup will walk for nothing, Cooper will walk in two year for nothing, and Zeke will walk in 2 years for nothing.

I think if the Cowboys think that Pitts is a generational player and love him then go get him, forget the cost. 25 years of being safe got us nothing. Time to take risks.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way.

A lot of teams and players and players’ families are not bound by truth right before the draft. I don’t believe much of what is going around right before the draft.

Sounds like Papa Pitts is having a lot of fun and having visions of dollar signs. Good for him.

I would be okay with this.

Take the best player available regardless of position. One player isn't fixing this defense and there's going to be quality prospects there at 44 and 75.

Seems like Papa Pitts knows Dak needs even more weapons to be successful.

Make my day, Jerry. Go get Pitts. I enjoy watching heads go ‘splodey.

Papa Pitts primed for a big party tonight no matter what team takes him.

I have no idea exactly where Pitts will end up as far as his career... BUT, if you had a crystal ball and Pitts ends up being a Travis kelce or Tony Gonzalez, would you trade up for him?

I have utmost respect for both Kelce and Gonzalez but I think if Pitts can deal with life of an NFL player and can avoid major injury has the potential to be better. Being around 6'06" and possessing 4.4 speed is impressive and at TE it is even more impressive.
