if you played any of their games before it is very similar in that regard, just a different way of presenting itself. The games I mentioned above are highly replayable single player experiences. Not grindy, just replayable.
Getting those headphones you showed me a ways back just for this game...tried with ear buds but wasn't feeling it. But yes it is a cool feature for this game and go through about an hour before good old sinus monsters showed its head. Getting those headphones tho with everything back open and appr the details on what to look for.

I would never play a game like this. I don't care how good it is.
I used to say that until Bloodborne...I get it though; feels like that rogue structure is a cheap way to extend a simple gameplay loop into a 60-70$ game. Feels border cheap but it really is just a difft format/style to progression tbh.

I lost all my progress on my 3rd run through last night before giving up but it doesn't feel like that time was wasted bc I know different angles/style of play to get past certain spots going forward.

But these new Rogue-lite games like Hades and
If you have a good pair of headphones, wear them while you play RETURNAL.
The Haptic feedback triggers mixed wth the sound is incredible. Truly crazy...im still playing now. Give me those Biomes haha. Game gets really brutal and super crazy at the second half. Can't wait. Absolutely incredible game!

I get what you're saying, but to me, games like this forces me just to finish the game instead of exploring things. I am off and on am playing one of the Doom games and it's checkpoints can be rather long between them. I will finish a level but I don't fully "explore" a level because I'm afraid I'll make a mistake and die and then be forced to start all over again. Not my cup of tea.

Can't stop playing returnal. The game isn't for everyone and I can't count how many times I've died.
Ey yuuuuung!

Game is stupid hard  To give it credit, I still can't active reload to save my life but just mainly frustrated at this point tbh...it's the randomness of the bullet hell style projectiles and enemies that throws me...I think I don't take it as "seriously" as the Souls games due to the feel/guns probably, but can't get this thing down smh

There's different guns, then a set of random rolls you get for each archetype - some make the gun feel worse or better. I avoid the pistol and lobber at all costs. Those stupid kamikaze drones are keeping me check in the 3rd world and from what I can tell high rate of fire/large mags are best for them. Anything slow firing/hard hitting requires too many reloads to contain them all.

The Mads!
My favorite riffers!

Loved their last live one with the Kevin Q&A.
I wonder if they're going to eventually drag Mike on the show.
I don't think Joel is going to show up anytime soon... lol.
I couldn't agree more. The shows featuring educational short films are always my favorite. The short about marijuana with Sonny Bono was hilarious. You didn't need to be "blowing grass" to laugh.
Remember me asking if the Mads were going to drag Mike Nelson to their Q&A?
It's happening! I need you to come up with some good questions for him. I watch with the wife so I'm not on the keyboard.
Really dig into what happened with Joel and did Kevin really get stoned during roundtable talks?
I remember. You may have a better chance at getting a question answered than me, I've been stopped on forth and goal during the last couple shows. It might be because these live streaming shows now have over a couple thousand in attendance and my questions are probably just being lost in the all-out blitz of questions they receive. It also might be because they now have someone else dedicated to collecting the questions during the show and my questions probably just aren't making it past the new quality control. I'll try to get one in next week, but I won't be surprised if I'm stopped short again. :(

Graphics look pretty damn good on the new Resident Evil Village game. I've never been too into the horror games (I'm a big chicken haha) but I can appreciate them. I did play RE7 extensively on the PS4 in VR. That was a trip. lol They did a good job with that one.
