As posted above,

"He's not been one bit of a problem for me in the two years that he's been here. He's not been a problem whatsoever. He's always done a good job, he's been on time, he's worked hard. He bought into our culture and our program and has been a lot of fun to coach."
You don’t get far in the business if you don’t help your players get drafted high. That’s what you say after the guy is out of your hair.

I plan to judge him based on what he does here, but my concern would be we have another Mo Claiborne situation.

I think this guy will play well early on and everyone will forget that he has off the field issues. Then I think that issues will crop up and people will realize—oh yeah, that’s why we were able to get him in the second round.

Short run, probably good pick. Longer term, I’m betting against the kid. Not because he’s a rapper, but because he got suspended for a bowl game and burned bridges at multiple schools.

With how many CB's were taken off the board when we finally got to select him, it was a good value imo. If he didnt have the off the field type crap, easily a 1st rounder.

For me, I thought the Cowboys would get at least two of Horn or Surtain. So I didnt do much homework on other guys. Then the disappointment of watching Moerhig go right in front of us was too much to bare. When the pick came out, most of it was about how he was an attitude problem and a risk being kicked off a couple of teams. Then the rapper thing.

I didnt like the pick. But as things have settled down, I have done more research, watched interviews and film, the kid is definitely growing on me. He definitely has the talent. Im even starting to get convinced that even if Moerhig was there we should have taken this kid.

I think you speak for most of us. Well said. It did take some dust to settle before re evaluating Dallas' picks. Im pretty happy about this draft and the fact they brought in a legit 1st rd caliber talent at CB just makes it all better. Still can't bring in a blue chip safety, however, it looks like they have handled that with free agency.

This defense is COMPLETELY new. Im looking forward to this season even more than last season. Well... i say that every season.

GO COWBOYS!!!

Because obviously he'd admit otherwise.

Lol
I love how you always pretend to know what another man is thinking like you’re some psychological mastermind. No one in here knows what this man is thinking. Stop pretending to.

Didn't say I know what he's thinking. I'm pointing out what was reported that all the teams had to consider.

I've interviewed thousands of people in my life. They aren't exactly completely honest in those interviews.

That was the only point.

I hope the guy is a ringer.

If the other things didn’t happen (his off field stuff) he would have been a first rounder

Strangely, no one questioned Beasley's commitment to football.
I think some of you guys are having revisionist history here. There was a problem with Beasely rapping. I remember several arguments I got into were I made comments about him making an album and everyone jumped down my throat with the whole " what he does in his free time" statements. So there was issues with Cole Beasley's rap career. I remember the thing we talked about was concern Cole was being taken advantage of cuz he put up the money to make his album instead of the record company signing him. I remember Shannon Sharpe and Skippy doing a whole 15 minute segment on it.

2 things pop in my mind. 1. Bossman Fat sucks. Auto tune and he's just talking over it. 2. Cole was an established player and he continued to produce after his rap career fizzled. Bossman Fat has a (very recent) history of not having his head on straight. To compare Bossman Fat to Cole is not accurate. Cole was solidified as an NFL player, Bossman Fat has not done that yet.
