How did special teams contribute to that? Poor punt returns? Poor kick returns?

Cowboys have maybe 2 punt returns per game, and most kickoffs sail way deep into the end zone, or even out of it.

Dak has still not lead the Cowboys to the playoffs in a season where his RB didn't win the rushing title.

We need game manager Dak back if we really want to be a serious threat to anybody.

I tend to agree with Jimmy Johnson when he said "I think he can win you a championship if he has great players around him. I don't think Dak can carry a football team if he doesn't have great players around him". I believe he would know better then any of us.

Its not what Dak needs, its what the Cowboys need.

Great QB.............CHECK!

Defense.............big need
Coaching...........was a huge need, we shall see
Skill position players.............CHECK!
Oline...................CHECK! depending on the year.
Special teams...............Probably a CHECK!

Most issues are on the defensive side of the ball.

Mahomes, Brady, Aikman, ect.....ect....................were all surrounded by incredible talent and coaching.

Look what happened to Mahomes when he lost 2 lineman? Couldnt even score a TD on the biggest stage.

You QB challenged naive types just dont understand the game of football. Aikman couldnt even win a game without Emmitt. Aikman was one of the best bus drivers we have ever seen.

If we were to do a little compare and contrast as to what Dak/Romo has and what Aikman had, who do you think would come out with more?

Aikman drove the bus and was one of the best we have ever seen at it. You can turn this into a Dak infatuation thread if you want.

Aikman drove the bus because its all he had to do. The players and coaches around him were so talented, he just had to drive it.

Im quite sure a QB challenged troll like you is completely incapable of making that distinction. No doubt you think Aikman did it all by himself.

Aikman averaged about 220 yards and 1.5 TD's per game. Did Aikman need everything perfect around him troll?

that's the point he is blind too. all these great QBs had great talent around them. they didn't do it alone. the one great QB who hasn't been able to do it is Rodgers and he doesn't have all the great talent around him and he continuously falls short. he won't be satisfied until Dak, has a bunch of 7th round and UDFA at RB, WR and OL and we have the 32nd rank defense and win a championship and even then he will spin it somehow..its to a point it seems that its personal.

Aikman knew his role. He was a leader and didn't care to get up in faces. He didn't care about his numbers. He did what we needed to win games. The proof is in the rings.

Dak wants to be the star, highest paid, prettiest numbers, and everybody's buddy. Dak has the Garrett mentality. Dak has the "we'll get em next time" mentality. It's weak.
