I would not be the least bit surprised if the Cowboys hammer Tampa Bay on opening night even though I think the Cowboys will win 9 or fewer games.

the offenses may be equal, but their defense has leaps more experience within their system, especially for game 1.

They return all their starters on D. Our starters and DC and system are all changing.

It could happen, but Vegas probably has Dallas correctly pegged as a significant underdog.

Matter of fact, its the 3rd largest spread of opening week! Yikes!

There are plenty of reasons to believe the Dallas Cowboys can not only contend for the NFC East, but the NFC title this upcoming season. Former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum thinks it’s not only possible, but plausible.

During an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up! on Tuesday, Tannenbaum revealed he believes the Cowboys can “take Tampa Bay all the way to the Conference [Championship].” He also thinks Dallas will beat the Buccaneers on opening night.

“I think [the Cowboys] can take Tampa Bay all the way to the Conference [Championship],” Tannenbaum said, via Get Up!. “… When Dallas beats Tampa on opening night, they’re going to have the inside track for home-field advantage.”

When Dallas beats Tampa, hell will also freeze lol.
very unlikely that dallas can beat tampa in the first game. They might have a chance if it were game 12 or later in season.
but not game 1.

“take Tampa Bay all the way to the Conference [Championship]..... what does this mean lol the dude cant even talk right.
How could dallas take another team anywhere??

Micah Parsons needs to imprint his jersey number on Brady several times early. Get His Highness to start looking for where Mad Micah is and adjust the protection toward Parsons. Then perhaps some of the other people who are paid to knock the snot out of the opposing quarterback can find it within themselves to introduce Brady to the ground. Slap the ball from his hand until it bruises.

Brady is great, but he is also human. The results producing several hours in the tub to nurse his battered frame would go a long way in making this win possible.

Dak and the Tres Hombres, with Double Trouble coming out of the backfield could "finish what they started."

Maybe so but he will be feeling great week 1 against a inexperienced Cowboys secondary with the best offensive skill players going against them.

Tampa wins this game.

Opening night on the road against the SB champs is an L.

Dallas hasn't beaten Tom Brady in the two decades he's been in the league.

This defense figures to have numerous young guys, and I fully expect Tommy Boy to pick them apart. Dak will have to put up a 40 burger for us to have a chance.

That being said, huge opportunity for us. Hope we can do it. To be the man, you gotta beat the man.
In fairness, most teams don't have much success against Brady, plus it's not as if Dallas plays Brady frequently - only 5 times over 21 years.

I would love to disagree with you on this, but I can't deny the odds are very much against the Cowboys.

Hopefully Brady can age over night and finally play like everyone has expected him to for years now.

It has to happen sometime, right?

Eagles fans like you would have to start running for the hills early if we beat Tampa. I am sure a win is something you are quietly dreading.

Its unlikely because the new defense will only be in week #1 trying to stop Brady. Also Dak's first game back from injury and could be rusty. Cant afford too many mistakes if you are going to beat Tampa.

Every game we play is a coin flip. Good, bad, indifferent, our opponent means less than the cowboys team that shows up.

i can see us winning but also not meaning a lot going for the rest of the 16 left after..or lose and the same applies..

however, already been discussed best time to meet the sb champs is game 1 , they are fat and happy, will not take us seriously, and we have all off season to prepare for it..

so very conceivable we beat TB or lose :)..

Yeah, I don't really think there will be too much to be ashamed of to lose to the reigning SB Champs on their home field especially if we keep it close. The defense will be new and that is going to hurt us for a while. We pulled a tough opponent/situation to start the year but I feel like it will get much better all around as the season goes on. At least I hope so.
