Yea, Denver didn’t want it . And Mara with the Giants not Jets has always said he’d deny if selected . You are aware of who the 5 eligible teams were this year?

Jethro had an opportunity to reject it. And yes I’d applaud him for it.

2021 was literally the first time that Dallas has been available for mandatory selection to appear on the show.in 13 years. The fact that it happened is a pretty clear sign that it was HBO’s call and not Jerry’s.

Brag? Who has bragged abut it? Id like to see a couple of quotes where someone was in here bragging about the Cowboys popularity. Just because a FACT is brought up hardly equates to bragging.

The Cowboys were recently on that Amazon's All or Nothing, the Joneses love the spotlight.

That doesn't change the fact that he couldn't have turned "Hard Knocks" down even if he wanted to. I doubt that he would have, but it wasn't an option.

It's NFL Network, not Dallas Cowboys Network. Why would they spend a lot of time talking about the Cowboys these days? Three of the four guys you mentioned are future Hall of Fame QBs (the other is Carson Wentz ) - of course they're going to talk about them. They're not going to spend a lot of time going on about a team coming off 8-8 and 6-10 seasons, even if they are called the Dallas Cowboys. Get back to competing for titles and they'll talk about the Cowboys all day and twice on Sundays.

For now, unfortunately, we'll have to be content with Hard Knocks (I will watch as well). Titles are hard to come by for the 21st century Cowboys.

Oh I don't expect them to talk about Dallas a lot at this point. My point was that sure Rodgers' situation is a story, but 30 minutes EVERY day? And it's just like you said, it's the NFL Network, not the Rodgers/Wentz/Brady etc. network. I can just imagine how a Lions, Broncos et al fan feels, they don't get as much attention as Dallas even. In a 2 hour show spending half of it on 3 or 4 teams is hardly an "NFL" show. Besides, how many hours and hours have already been spent on freaking Tom Brady? What else is there to talk about? They talk about the same tired "when's he going to show signs of slippage" or "he doesn't eat meat" or "how long will he play" story lines over and over and over again.

And again I don't expect them to cover Dallas a lot at this time, but that means I don't have to watch the show....

I love how we are excited to be doing hard knocks even thought he restrictions are as follows:

1. If you have done it in the last 10 years you do not have to do it. This clearly implies that it is not something you want to do.

2. If you have a first year head coach. Again this clearly implies it is not something you want to do. You are terrible and starting over we do not wish this additional pain on you.

3. You were in the playoffs the last 2 years. Yet again this implies that it is not something you want to do if you are a real time that competes for a championship every year.

Yet here we go again the Dallas Cowboys prepare for the show. Is it just me or does everyone else see how this is clearly illustrating what is important to this franchise.

Not quite sure what your getting at, donyou think the goal is lose on purpose so we can get on this show?

I totally agree. Jethro had no influence in the decision. And of course the Cowboys were HBO’s obvious choice.

But the fact remains not all franchises are interested when eligible .

It says they picked the Cowboys and Jones was excited to be a part of it. Seems to me that they may not have forced the Cowboys to do it, Jerry may have volunteered them.

Hard knocks is just icing on the cake.

Regardless.. I will enjoy hardknocks. The hype and overrating of our team and players during that time will be the most fun part of our season until about 7 weeks in we see nothing about this team has changed and another year has been wasted.

Yah Hard Knocks will be the reason the cowboys are terrible this season lol. Not their all time bad defense or anything like that.

The bad defense was last year, not this year. How many new defensive players have they added this year? Isn't it around 16 new players on defense and the new coach?
