First off......Brady did sit on a bench, Wilson did start day one, simply a fact.

All we can realistically compare right now is those first nine seasons of the career, what Brady has done after that simply doesn't matter here. Yes Wilson was more revered those first nine seasons, not debatable.

Yes Tom Brady is THE GOAT no doubt about it, BUT......Russell Wilson had a better first nine seasons.

Late round picks usually don't start. Thankfully nobody's career is determined by how they start.

I agree with that.

Tons of this kind of thing out there....

Russell Wilson is the first quarterback in NFL history to have a winning record in each of his first nine seasons

— Alistair Corp (@byalistaircorp) December 13, 2020
Wilson had already become the quarterback with the most wins through his first nine seasons and has now secured yet another season of play above .500. Regardless of the health of the roster, the talent around him, or the level of play from his defense, Wilson has proven to be a walking playoff berth, keeping Seattle in contention year-in and year-out.

Breaking a record or setting a new milestone has seemingly been a weekly occurrence for Wilson in his ninth season and that will only continue as his career progresses, such is the consistency he plays with.

I'm not arguing against the idea that Russell is a good player. He's very good, and I've said it for a long time. Comparing him to Brady who has played (and won) since Russell was 12-years-old just isn't the right move.

I wasn't just talking Brady, I'm talking everyone, actually you ran with the Brady comparison.

Wilson was a far better NCAAer than Brady, and his first NFL seasons far better, simply reality. Yes Brady has had an amazing career, this isn't about that however.

We compare everything, hell...The Top 40 Hits.

Comparing any QB in pro football history to what Wilson put up his first nine seasons, will have Wilson winning out.

Still waiting to see......he had a better first nine seasons. Where is he?

Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw played with 8 fellow HOFer

Well I;ve seen Johnny U play, Montana at Notre Dame, Tarkenton, seen um all, and none were better than Russell Wilson. He had a better college career than any of them.

Bottom line is...

Walked in and started day one, has never missed a game, has won more games than anyone. And he's never had a great TE (prime) an All Pro WR.

Right now today he is among the top .3/4 QB;s in football and when he retires I expect to see him among the top 3/4 all time,
Montana was better than Wilson, and it's not close.

Yes Tom Brady is THE GOAT but his first nine seasons don't compare to Wilsons. This he won more Superbowls doesn't work, Eli won more than Marino, see what I mean?

yeah... no.

Just looking at comp% and passer rating for the career

Otto.....55.8/86.6
Johnny U....54.6/78.2
Tarkenton....57.0/80.4
Namath....50.1/65.5.......ouch!!!!!
Bradshaw....51.9/70.9.....whoa!!!!
Montana....63,2/92.3
Marino....59.4/86.4
Fouts...58,8/80.2
Elway....56.9/79.9......expected more!
Kelly,,,,60.1/84.4
Moon....58.4/80.9
Warner....65.5/93.7
Eli....60.3/84.1
Favre....62.0/86.0
Young...64.3/96.8
Rivers....64.9/95.2
Drew,,,,,67.7/98.7
Peyton....65.3/96.5
Big Ben....64.4/94.0
Brady....64.0/97.3
Aaron....65.1/103.9
Russell...65.1/101.7

Now if we talk rushing nobody there close to Wilson.

Wilson the only 30,000 passing yards and 4000 rushing yards.

How about that TD/INT ratio, who there has three times more TD than INT, besides Wilson?

As we can see Russell Wilson belongs with the very elite.

Yep, his third season, second consecutive SB. How many QB play in two SB's in their first three seasons?

Patrick Mahomes. 3 seasons. 2 Super Bowls. Back to back Super Bowls. Won one of them.

Russell Wilson had a great start to his career and then it fizzled out to where he is in cruise control. His teams are never terrible but his teams are never a huge threat to win anything. Maybe a wild card round victory but that is it. He let a Dallas defense confuse him and keep him in check in the playoffs.

After that great defense disbanded, he does not have that to carry him. The defense were the stars of those Super Bowl teams.

Fizzled?

Look at his first 5 seasons compared to his last 4 stat wise, all his numbers far superior to what they were in the BEASTMODE days.

Three pro bowls his first 5 seasons, 4 pro bowls his last 4.

The guy has never had a losing season, he has won more games in his first nine seasons than anyone in history,

Only 30,000 passer, 4000 yard rusher, only 4000/30/500 in a season.

Fizzled???

Guy leaves Wisconsin as the NCAA all time passing efficency leader for a season, ties the NFL TD record (Peyton 26) his rookie season, puts up a 100 passer rating. Wins a SB in his second and another 100 passer rating, first NFL QB in history to accomplish that. Then precedes to win more games than any QB in history in a nine season beginning of a career. He never sat on a bench, never missed a game.

He owns a slew of NFL records and firsts, and this season will pass Joe Montana on the all time TD list when he throws his 7th TD pass, will pass Warren Moon and Johnny Unitas if he throws 30, Should end up at around 13th all time this season.

Incredible QB!

4th all time leading QB rusher, second all time passer rating for those with at least nine seasons.

I'm a Wilson fan. He's incredible

but you have to know that football team wins and losses are not an individual stat

For sure no way in hell his team would've had 9 straight winning seasons if he'd been drafted by some of those 2-14 teams during that span. He's not making a 2-14 team with no talent become 9-7....especially many years in a row.

Montana missed how many games his first nine seasons? What was his record? What are you looking at?

Less of everything, so....?????
Lets see. How many rings has Montana?
Montana definitely had a better NCAA career. In the pressure cooker that was Notre Dame. Won a NC and his last game was an all time great one. So right there you are full of crap.
Russel Wilson walked into a team that only needed a bus driver to win its first SB. Then threw the game LOSING PICK in the ONLY OTHER SB HE HAS EVER BEEN TO. Never been close to one since.
He has been a stat king snce then. Nothing more.

SBs
Montana 4-0
Wilson 1-1

SBs
Montana 4-0
Wilson 1-1

Then there is always reality.

Montana at ND

comp%...52.0
TD/INT....25/25
yards....4121
passer rating...125.6

Wilson NCAA

60.9
109/30
11, 720
147,2

In his senior season an NCAA record 191.8 passer rating.

So who had the best NCAA career?

Hmmmm....that INT came in his second SB he had aleady won one,

So Eli Manning with his two SB wins makes him better than...

Dan Marino
Dan Fouts
Warren Moon
Fran Tarkenton
Jim Kelly
Sonny Jurgenson

,,,,,all in the Hall of Fame, none won a SB.

Montana was great, a Mount Rushmore QB, but his first nine seasons were not superior to what Wilson has put up, And,,,,hell no, he wasn't better at the NCAA level.

I just have fun with this...

tied rookie td record
only QB in history to have two 100 passer ratings first two seasons
never sat on a bench
never missed a game
has won more games than anyone ever in those first nine seasons
second all time passer rating among those with at least nine seasons
Superbowl winner
NFL record....4000/30/500...in a season, 15 yards from doing that three times
Three times more TD than INT
4th all time leading rusher QB's
one of only three QB;s to have 4 30td passes in a season
8 pro bowls in first nine seasons
NFL leader in TD passes in a season
NFL leader in passer rating in a season
40 TD passes in a season
only 4000 yard rusher/33,000 yard passer
has never had a losing season
will pass Joe Montana on the all time passing TD list around game 3/4 this season.

Russell Wilson sets NFL record for fourth-quarter touchdowns in a season with more late-game magic

Nobody was more impressive than Russell Wilson in their first nine seasons, simply how it is.

Hadn't ever thought about it until now but Joe Montana pretty much sucked at ND,

First of all he only played in 27 games, his best comp% for a season a wimpy,...54.2, hell I could that, well...close. Most passing TD;s in a season...11....what? Most yards...2010..huh?

25 TD/25 INT...whoa! Terry Bradshawish.

I do have compassion so I won't type what Wilson had, being kind.......Montana was a great Niner!

Hmmmmm? Wilson vs Elway NCAA, hmmmm?

Russell Wilson NCAA

50 games
60.9

147.2
1421/23TD

Never would have thunk this...

Luck threw for 32 touchdowns and had only eight interceptions last year. He also was the second-leading rusher on the team with 453 yards — a Stanford season record for quarterbacks — and had three touchdown runs of 50 yards or longer. How’s that stack up against another dual-threat Stanford quarterback, John Elway? If you want to win a bar bet sometime, here are Elway’s career rushing stats from Stanford, 259 attempts, minus-279 yards. As a Cardinal, Elway finished in the red.

Never seen a stat like before, yep, a first, minus...279...wow!

That is right there with a Tennessee high school that was unscored on for three seasons, and....no opponet got past the 50 yard line.
