Why is Jimmy Johnson so conspicuously missing from the Cowboys Ring of Honor after all these years? After all, he is the architect that built a 3x Super Bowl champion (Barry S. won that 3rd one with the foundation Jimmy already had in place).

Now we get to disparage Jerry, his ego and his attempts to smooth things over. So far, Jimmy is having none of it and is focused on the HOF.
But Jimmy's invitation to the ROH will happen in the next couple of years.
Now let us complain about ... big, dubious contracts that put pressure on the cap. Or Rowdy.

It should happen at some point. As time goes by more people realize Jimmy Johnson was ready to leave the Cowboys anyway; no matter what Jerry said or did. Jimmy himself admitted to that. Johnson never stayed at one coaching spot, college or pro, more than five years before he mentally burnt himself out.

People are amazing in their unwillingness to accept this simple fact bout Jimmy Johnson. Not only does he burn himself out and needs a change of scenery every few years but his ways wear thin after a while and people get sick of him too. He wasn't sticking around in Dallas too much longer no matter what and I have a feeling a lot of the disrespect he was throwing Jerry's way after Super Bow XXVIII was intended to get himself fired so he could leave and get paid to do so. The bottom line is you don't get to talk shiate about your boss and keep your job in most instances. And you don't get to be treated like a hero in the aftermath. Jimmy knows that as well as anyone. Even the people who hate Jerry and blame him for the break up know it.. but since they hate Jerry they pretend not to.

It will happen. It’s just absolutely ridiculous that it didn’t happen before Jimmy’s HOF induction. Jerry is in the HOF for his “contributions” off the field to the NFL. Jimmy is in for his coaching on the field. Big difference.

It should be an embarrassment to Jerry that he’s waited so long to induct Jimmy into the ROH. Because by acting so childish and petty, it actually diminishes Jerry’s own accomplishments.

Jerry's money built that team. The architect's design wouldn't have come to fruition without Jerry's money. If Jimmy would have built that team during the salary cap era then I'd give him more credit. But with the money Jerry was throwing around Barry Switzer could have built a Superbowl caliber team. Jerry gave Hershal Walker a million dollars just to accept the trade to Minnesota. It was Jimmy's vision, but Jerry's money made it come true.
