Ty Nsekhe....I thought for a while there Chaz Greene snuck into camp.

A little quick on the gun with Nysekhe. The sack he gave up was because Gilbert didn't get rid of the ball on a three-step drop. He didn't pick up a blitzer quickly on another play, but shoved him down.

I'd be really surprised if Brown goes anywhere.

the third string qb does not count toward the gameday 46 (45) anymore though so you do want one who can play if they have to.

Still counts toward the 53. If we lose our starter and primary backup, I'm not sure if it matters if we have another quarterback on the roster.

they have been practicing in shorts for two weeks. None of the camp reports mean anything. Its basically 7 on 7 drills and meetings. Cowboys training camp is a marketing event in California for the Jones family business.

As always it seems the approach is to just get through camp without anyone getting hurt and then letting the starters work themselves into game shape in the first couple weeks of the season.

The one kid that I thought really stood out...and was a surprise was #97 Carter...Really came off the ball....hustled all night. He looks like a guy that could help @ RDE ....help keep Gregory fresh.

Agreed, but still, a bit unlucky there.

After this game, I think if we go with six receivers, Turner will be one of them (Cooper, Gallup, Lamb, Wilson, Brown, Turner). But that's just an initial reaction. Need to see more from Fehoko if he's going to displace one of them. And if we only keep five, I think Turner would be the odd man out.

Oh well that is a different discussion. I thought you meant gameday but if you mean overall...it would be insane to not have a third string qb on the 53 after your qb dislocated his ankle and hasn't played football in a year. I feel like they essentially have to this year.

Hell I even thought the Robinson kid looked like he belonged out there tonight. I think we have a lot of options out there...but the problem is...we are so raw and young. Gonna have to live w/ some growing pains...that's for sure.

Overall I was ok with the first half play. Was not impressed at all with the 2nd half.
But it was what I expected for the first real action since December, as well for the rookies.

Could clearly see some of the guys that will be gone or on the PS. Not concerned at this point. Will see how, or if the improve the next game.

We will see the typical overreaction over the next week. Heck I may make a few comments myself as I did on the game threads. Such as for Burton, The WR Smith but did have a really nice catch later, but had a lot of drops in contested catches.

I liked Turner, as he had a few nice catch and runs after his fumble, which I commented he may not make it. However, seeing the other WR”s and Feheko needed more chances. I will give Turner the 6th spot over Feheko as I had them flipped at first for the 6th WR.

DeNucci sucks, Rush, need to see more, Gilbert looked the best. But I think they need to bring in another QB.
The FB looked decent.

Brad pointed out an interesting note that I had not realized tonight. The way roster cut downs are setup this year is different and 5 players have to be cut this tuesday I believe he said.

Cuts have to be made before 30 teams have played a game? I doubt that.

Maybe I misunderstood him. I will look it up. I am pretty sure he said tuesday five players have to be cut.


edit: looked it up. Its the 17th. Cuts are on tuesday's this year not saturdays.

so 5 players on the 17th and then 5 players on the 24th. So that is new this year which I guess makes sense with the new 3 game preseason.

Sadly...He's right. There is no excuse for coming out here and laying another egg. This was his chance to change the tone from last year. He blew it big time. You get one chance to show you have corrected what went wrong last year.....yet we still made a lot of the same mistakes as last year.

I swear it seems like a miracle for our KO return team to just make it to the 25 yard line.

The first 4 I don't agree with. I haven't watched the whole game yet but what little I saw of Nsekhe early was ridiculous. He stunk. Saw him give up a sack where he totally whiffed. Got beat on a run where the RB was tackled for a loss.
