How much did Jerry pay Baldy to say that nonsense? Parsons did nothing exceptional. He just did his job.

He kinda did though.

1. He shows awareness, a lot of guys would have committed to the tackle and missed the ball coming out. Parsons had his eyes up diagnosing from play one.
2. He is stripping at the ball which is basic but our linebackers still don't do it regularly. Wilson is really the only one on the team that does.
3. He doesn't get sealed in on the double team so that when the TE comes off him, he still has a lane to the runner. I've seen Jaylon and LVE put on skates dang near every time a linemen gets hands on them
4. That's a 300lbs guard that has a clear shot at Micah whose already occupied. Look where the guard ends up, and then look who makes the tackle.....it's not normal for things to go that way.

Stop it! It was a bad handoff between the QB and RB, not stripped out. The ball fell right in front of him. All he had to do to get the ball is something my grandma does regularly... fall down.

Could we say that about Bobby Carpenter, Soft Taco or Tristen Hill? First action in 18 months and looks like this? I think we can expect more.
Looks like what? He did nothing extraordinary. A ball fell right in front of him and he fell on it. Big deal!

Trade him for three 1sts, two 2nds, and a 3rd and save us the long drawn out contract hold-out in a few years lol. J/K

This really surprised me:

Parsons was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on May 26, 1999. He attended Central Dauphin High School for his freshman and sophomore years, before transferring to Harrisburg High School where he started at both defensive end and running back. As a freshman, he tallied 121 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and 18.5 sacks.

Penn State University offered Parsons a football scholarship after just four games of his freshman season and he initially committed in the spring of 2016, before decommitting for a while and committing again on December 20, 2017. He graduated Harrisburg High School seven months early to expedite the enrollment process

If you got the chance to watch Parsons in 2019, you saw pretty much what the Cowboys are going to get out of him his rookie year. He will make some mistakes and will get called out here but Parsons sins with be those of commission, not omission.

He is also aware of what the idiot son said about him being their 3rd choice after the 2 CB's, really stupid on his part, so he will be more out to "prove himself" and his is also aware he's the savior of one of the worst D's and run D's in Cowboys history. Just as Ware came in to fix the pass rush, Parsons is there to help stop the run. That is his assignment.

If that energy level he had at Penn State is indicative of what he brings, I am glad those 2 CB's were gone because neither was going to help stop the run. The upside of Micah Parsons was the best in this draft and his potential has barely been scratched. I believe if he'd played last season, he would not be a Cowboy and would have gone as the first non QB.

Did you see snake oil and a scrub in those plays? You already doubled-down. Go ahead and say what we all know you want to say. You have an agenda to push.

The 2nd play in that video was my favorite play of the game by a Cowboys player.

The 3rd play was similar.

It almost defies physics for him to hold up to an OT-TE double and then to a Guard-Center double.

The 1st play in the video is something that everyone knew was part of his core skillset but the other plays were part of what make him much versatile than just a standard off-ball LB.

you missed the point but ok

the guy was hustling and doing more then his job making plays from the backside full speed hustle and around the ball even when it wasn't in his area of responsibility after not paying 18months and the coaches adding more positions to learn as rookie and hes played more then most anyone else so far in PS..hes rookie that hasnt played in 18months learning new system with an NFL scheme at multiple positions,,

of course nothing was eye popping super man stuff but given the circumstances hes playing more like vert then rookie..jeez

how about an ataboy every once in while from this place on our own players. Always critical..

fans who watch closely can see special when they are paying attention and Parsons has that potential..its better then him looking lost and making excuses and not hustling
I have been hyping Parsons since before the draft. JoeKing is the one that has claimed on multiple occasions that the kid can't cover, has no instincts and on and on beating on the guy. Not sure why you quoted me.

You are right the play where he was doubled was very very impressive. Im not gonna lie i knew he was good but he is showimg a lot more than even his penn state tape from 2 years ago. He must have been working his butt off last year even while not playing

I'm not even talking about that play. He took on two double-teams and still made the play. Ask yourself if our other LBs do that. Jaylon gets washed out and Vander Esch is using his speed to try to run around that.

It's obviously too early to say he's going to be special, but, at the very least, he looks solid, especially when you compare to some of our recent defensive draft picks. We're not sitting around making excuses like "he needs a year in the weight room because he's getting blown off he ball (Tristen Hill)".

I think he was more impressed with Parsons by not playing in 18 months. Then he "just did his job" very well. And lining up in different positions. He was not lost as some would have been. For 18 months off, and doing what he did, is pretty good for learning a new defense. PS game or not.

Man, I really don't think it's too early. This cat shows all the signs of being a game changer.

Really great tape. I hope during the next game he gets more plays defending the seam on a passing play, just to get him the experience. I doubt that will always be his strong suit but I'd like to see how he holds up.

Run downs he's going to be really great for this team.

Looking forward to seeing Surtain and Horn in live action. Then we will have some interesting conversations.

I am very happy with who the Cowboys picked in every round this year. I don’t see anything I would change on a re-draft right now.
