I would want a pick (at least a 3rd), they never get a good deal with player for player deals. See Charvarius Ward trade.

Hate the idea unless you get absolutely overwhelmed by an offer....You cant have enough OL depth, and unless you plan on re-signing Connor Williams you have a massive hole at LG next year, in addition to injury concerns at LT/RT + an aging RG.

If Williams has a big year and isn't affordable to retain they will seriously regret dealing McGovern.

What could the price possibly be? A third?

No one is going to offer a second. Not worth it.

I reckon you got to know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away, and know when to run.

This will be like when we traded Ward for Ehinger.

Future starter traded for cheap depth or a late round pick.

Ward was an undrafted free agent; McGovern a third round pick. The Cowboys can get a lot more for McGovern, I'm just hoping they keep him.

Three of our starting five OL have massive contracts.

Making Williams a fourth would be an awful allocation of funds for a team that is already way out of balance as to cap dollars spent on offense vs defense.

If anything, deal Williams.

I would trade him for a legitimate center, but trades like that are rare in the NFL.

I simply meant that Ward/McGovern have a chance to be a future starter here. We would be dealing them before they even got a chance to do anything.

I also don’t think the return would be as high as most think. I would much rather keep him so we aren’t forced to overpay Williams
