Kelvin Joseph has been unimpressive

I think we may do that early......but I don't think Joseph is ready quite yet....but I expect the vets to be on top of the depth chart.
ugh. Ghost of Garrett is still here. Brown is atrocious and should have been re-signed for the vet min, like Crawford, not given what he got. That said, I do like Lewis, as a nickel or dime corner. He filled that role quite well in 2018. And he has experience on offense as a gadget player, and special teams. Lewis is a nice player to have on the team.

I feel you man but I think the issue is they are just too raw and as of right now....Quinn wants to play the best players. And if the best players are playing? I can't complain. Just as long as their progress isn't being stopped.

Brown is not one of our best 3 corners. I would argue Canady over Brown. Lewis is nice as a slot or dime corner. One of Joseph or Diggs needs to start. Especially when you're picking that high in the second round, it needs to be a day one starter. It's also why I completely 100% disagree with Jeff Cavanaugh when he rambles on about wanting to pick Slater over Micah Parsons. Parsons is hall of fame caliber and a game wrecker if he stays healthy. Slater is going to be a good OT in the NFL, but he wouldn't start on day 1, year 1 over Tyron or Collins.

I was thinking Diggs, Lewis, Brown, Canady were the guys in front of Joseph.

And you are right...you'd like for your 2nd round picks to be able to start. But you also don't want to force guys out there before they are ready. Cowboys are the ones who chose to draft him in the 2nd round. That doesn't mean he is ready to start though. I think that was the same plan with Diggs he just came in and had a great camp.

I think with Slater they may have switched him to guard for the time being honestly. I was against him though I wasn't for taking any pick on offense with that pick.

yeah, and when you switch a top OT prospect to OG you lose a lot of value, and perhaps he is worse there especially having to learn a new position and perhaps beef up more. Oh yeah... and missing out on that future HOF all-pro linebacker thing.

As for the 2nd round CB, Joseph was drafted higher than Diggs. Brown should be a prime trade candidate. Canady and Lewis should get snaps, but so should Joseph on the outside. I'd even consider playing Wright on some snaps against taller bigger outside WRs in cover 3.

Yeah but we have to remember man..the COWBOYS drafted him in the 2nd round....that doesn't mean he's necessarily a 2nd round talent. For instance, look at Jeff Okudah last year? 3rd overall pick in the draft......he did not look ready to start and if the Lions were contenders he probably wouldn't have been.

Lewis still around! It's your birthday.

Okudah was alright, injured a bit, but the Lions are a hot mess overall.

to be clear, Lewis is not one of my two favorite CBs on the roster. He's definitely my slot guy along with Canady. I just don't see a good role for Brown unless he were to become a special teams ace and we could finally give Goodwin the axe.

To be clear, I think Brown is one of the starting CBs and it really is Jourdan Lewis' birthday.

So Joseph moving to IR tomorrow? This would be a nice way to save face when he doesn't play on defense early on and not have to answer the stupid and ridiculously early questions that surely will arise from fans or media about us wanting that pick as a "do over". Then when he gets "healthy" or when someone else gets injured we activate him

Nashon Wright sucks - bad .

it was an asinine reach - because he’s tall ?

Joseph has bust potential for sure .

He looked poorly coached .

I had Joseph rated no higher than a late 3rd round pick. Definitely not worth a 2nd round pick, much less a super costly early 2nd round pick. I've been proven correct once again.

Oh, well...hope he blossoms into a starter. If not, he'll be another to add to a long list of wasted costly 2nd round picks by the Cowboys.

You're the kind of nut rolling
Skeptic that would of fired Troy Aikmen after his horrible rookie season. Or better yet, sing praises of a guy like Trevor Lawrence after one pre season game against third stringers while ignoring the other games where he sucked.

You're full of it and so wrong with your "guesstimations". Stick to your day job, because you suck at figuring out how one truly feels or thinks.

I don't agree that Wright is bad. He can be a prototype legion of boom corner to counter the DK Metcalf's of the league soon.

I think Joseph is our CB2, with Lewis/Canady fighting for nickel/dime action. I do hope Wright can contribute on special teams, because he's a niche player for now. If he's not guarding a taller bigger WR, Wright shouldn't be on the field if he has to guard someone smaller and shiftier.

Brown... I've had it with that guy. it's his 6th year on the team and he hasn't impressed since he was a rookie. He gives up big catches on third downs. He's the lazier version of Chidobe Awuzie... and Awuzie didn't cut it here.

Joseph is my CB2.

Joseph will have his rookie growing pains. He was coming on strong in practice but that was probably more a case of him getting familiar with the same receivers day after day. He has the talent and the attitude to be a good one and we just have to be patient.

Dallas has Diggs, Brown, Lewis, and maybe Canady ahead of him and who knows how bad Joseph's groin injury is, so he won't get tossed into the fire at Tampa Bay anyway.

People, let me remind you...
Voch Lombardi humped his chair 'cuz of this pick. Just sayin'...
