Why is everyone so concerned, after all, the Cowboys were totally upfront about his injury last year right?.........right?:(
how do we know it's not the hip now? they may just be saying stinger so they don't have to deal with the questions.

It is mind blowing how quickly that 2016 team has disintegrated.
Not really. With a salary cap, free agency and 4/5 year contracts, 5 years is an eternity. Look at Carolina after they went 15-1 and to the Super Bowl. Or the Denver defense from then. Or San Fran. Maybe the biggest poster child are the Super Bowl Iggles.

He can barely move and looks terrible in preseason. I got flammed last week for being concerned. After an entire year off this is a joke. He needs to just retire.

Saw it too. Ninja mentioned it as well. Looks off.

And no, I'm not a doc either but his lower body movement and anchoring ability (or lack thereof) just kinda stood out to me as well.

Once again, i'm not getting good vibes about Collins here. Its gonna be a long season of trying to overcome this guy's health issues. And we almost know TSmith will run into problems too later on.

Captain Hindsight? Okay juvenile mentality wearing a peanut shell jockstrap. See, hurling insults is easy.

That said, the point is Tyron Smith has continued to miss games due to injury, Williams and McGovern have not proven themselves anything but JAG's, Biadasz is new, Martin just came off missing 6 games due to injury, and Collins missed all last season and now is injured again. With Smith and Martin being both 30 years old they are on the back side of their careers and the back-up OL consists of really inferior players. Anyway, you think what you will but voicing concern about the OL isn't an issue to most.

Yep, reality sucks. Excellent post.
No, not the mod Reality, lol

Are you serious? I'll give you Tyron (though he seems fine) but Martin has started every game except for that stretch last year, and when they drafted they had a full bill of health on Collins and Smith (who actually seems OK after finally having the surgery). They absolutely needed help on a defense with maybe one pro-bowler out of 11 when they had a line with at least 3 out of 5 positions. Kind of just inventing reasons to blast the FO there Captain Hindsight.
I think the lack of depth on the OL combined with the horrible defense blasts the front office there all on it's own, no?
Why can't we have both a not completely horrible backup OT, perhaps even NFL backup quality, when we know our starting OTs are constantly hurt and a defense that isn't disgusting? It's not like we are asking for the world here with those two things...

Oh and I admittedly got a chuckle out of the thought that Smith and Collins getting a (wink wink) clean bill of health in the offseason assumes both will actually play near 17 games...

screw everyone in the organization that continues to try and band-aid the backup OT spot when we have 2 guys that are always hurt. How many times do we have to go through the same damn situation before we learn

Couldn't agree more. I resemble this remark, lol.

This stinger will be a career long problem for Lael. He will miss several games this season, and on the games he plays, he will not play well because of rust.

So help me, if 71 can't go and McCarthy starts Steele over moving Martin to RT and McGovern to RG (ya know, "fantasy football nonsense") I'm going to FedEx McCarthy a box of hornets.

Did you see him in preseason? He has bone on bone in the hip according to rumor. He now has stinger issues. At least Steele is healthy (knock on wood) and can play.

Collins can’t even suit up. So, yeah, what do ‘at this point’ mean?
If I never see Steele play another down for the Cowboys I'll be happy. He was horrendous. Why do people keep pretending he wasn't completely horrible? Might he grow into an NFL backup? I don't know, maybe, but I'm not interested in finding out yet. PS level talent that only made the team because the guys we cut may even be worse...
