Martin not playing Tackle just proves the coaches don’t get it

There is no logical explanation to not play Martin at Tackle over this 5 game stretch.

Martin has the ability to play Tackle at a high level and you are purposely making yourself worse for whatever reason.

If Dallas can’t figure this out then we got coaching problems still. Martin shouldn’t have a say in this either. He’s paid to do a job and it’s not a permanent switch. It’s a short term solution that fixes a big problem.

This is a clear obvious move and if anything happens because of our right tackle it’s 100% on the decision makers who saw the obvious thing to do and ignored it.

give it a couple weeks when the mess they play at tackle fails miserly and then Martin will be moved out - probably after it cost us a win or 2

I’ll defer to the coaches on this one. My order would be:
Plan A - Steele
Plan B - Nsehke
Plan C - Farniok/Knight
Plan D - Martin to OT.

I also might rotate Steele and Nsehke to keep the big guys fresh.
I thought knight played better at RT than Steele did
But both got better as the season went on

It’s easier to help the RT than the guard
But it’s not really martins decision

I'm more in line with shoring up the middle and not letting the pressure come from there. We can move Dak around and chip w/ TE to keep him clean since it's coming from his right side. Pressure up the middle - just like from his blind side is a drive killer.
It’s much easier to help the RT than the guard

McGovern is a solid gaurd..the drop off from Martin to McGover is much lower than Martin to any of those guys at RT....why would you not want your best 5 on the field...Martin is an all pro G/T. you want to do it off matchups fine the next one we need a good RT or this guy we play can wreck a game and possibly a season....

While I want to move him out, didn’t he get injured last year playing tackle? This could lead to long term devastating effects. Without that injury possibility, I’d tell him to suck it up. But that risk is there.

And yes, I know he could get injured at guard. His risk is higher at tackle. And if we lose him in addition, we are done. Is that a risk worth taking?

There is no logical explanation to not play Martin at Tackle over this 5 game stretch.

The run game! How do ya’ll not see that?

Dude Martin said he doesn’t want to play tackle unless it’s absolutely an emergency. He also referenced the calf injury that he worsened when playing T. If the guy doesn’t want to play there that should tell you something. Either it’s an injury aggravator or the guy hates playing T. Regardless there’s reasoning here.

So agree. I'm about to stop watching this team.

It's like they create an excuse so they can lose.

Jerry must put wagers on games or something.

Pump the asset up just to dump it.

Then when it's all dumped and nobody is buying the dip, he pumps it up and creates FOMO.

If Martin isn't the RT on Sunday you can just add that to the long list of completely idiotic things this front office has done over the years. You have 5 quality OL available right now and a giant drop off after that. To play one of those JAGs instead defies all logic.

Risen with the voice of reason.
It's a no brainer people. Come on, best 5...smh

Simple as this.
No political correctness in winning NFL games.

I'm sorry, Zack needs to suck it up for the team
I am a Zack fan.

The back up tackles suck.

Best 5.
Ain't rocket science.

imo.
Did Martin say he doesn't want o make the move or is unwilling, because otherwiseI'm not sure that Martin not moving to RT has anything to do with him not being willing to suck it up.

Hopefully that's all it costs and not Dak's healthy.

Is it best for the team if he goes down?

Last season he had his first major injury--playing RT.

Playing inside at guard is just as "risky" for injury as playing tackle. There certainly is more space with playing tackle, so being rolled up would be less problematic. Not sure I understand the connection?

Martin didn't play last week, McGovern should remain at right guard and Martin moves out to tackle.....you're going to tell me Steele and Nsekhe is a better option than Martin at tackle? Play the best starting five, that's Martin at right tackle and McGovern at guard
Obviously those guys aren't better than Martin at RT, but that's not really the issue because neither is McGovern better than Martin at RG.

The issue is whether Martin at RG & Steele/Nsekhe at RT is a better right side combo than McGovern at RG & Martin at RT.

I personally like the idea of moving Martin to RT, but I'm not sure if the decision is as cut and dry as some believe.
