I don't think so...are you?

So it's all black and white...plus you know the details of the players agreement?

"Extenuating circumstances" versus "full extent of the law" or even "make it up as you go".

Be careful on that horse....it's pretty high. You also might pull a muscle in your attempt to be some kind of objective objector. .

lololol. Keep making excuses for a grown man missing 7 tests

See. This is the biggest BS ever. He had surgery and had prescribed meds. Had permission to go to funeral by the team and the league didn’t care and counted it as missed. They tested his way to much, it’s insane what they are doing to get back at JJ. Who by the way brings more money to the NFL than any other team. Pretty much pays this jerk commissioners over priced paycheck. And it’s a private company so they can’t sue but the NFLPA should have been all over this. At the end of the day the NFL will say oops sorry.

I don't know how it works. But can he sue the NFL?

And there's been reporting that when he did arrive for testing, he was uncooperative and threatened to throw urine in the face of those administrating the tests. now I don't know if that's true but something serious happened to garner 5 game suspension from the league
There's little to no doubt that there is much, much more to this...the things that connect the dots.

IF the throwing urine thing is anywhere close to true, Goodell probably advised Jerry to take the five games and be happy it's not more.

Not saying that's the case, there's just probably a lot we don't know.

Either way it's probably a very good thing that Jerry keeps his mouth shut. Not used to that lol.

Maybe the suspension triggers loss of any guaranteed money going forward. That might be a good thing if Jerry wants to cut him this year or next year.

it voids his injury clause that is all besides the game pay he misses.

A grown azz man needs permission to go to his uncle's funeral??? NFL is full of shyt!!! Don't need no fuc'n permission from them.

Right, the way they worded it sounds bad..."we gave him permission"...how bout "Collins had a death in the family and took time to be with his family"....

Un-F&#!-ing believable! So, to summarize: 10 tests per month over 18 months = 180 tests. The only 'positive' was for codeine prescribed by a doctor after surgery. Two others for personal reasons family loss and team family loss. By my math that is 4 tests out of 180 in 10 months and he gets a 5 game blanket suspension, with appeal already denied and no way to appeal further? This is absolute insanity. Cowboy team or not, this is a HUGE problem for the NFL. Outrageous to say the least. I am livid at the league for being so petty and flippant with a persons career and a teams chances - both punished punitively. PATHETIC.

GO COWBOYS!

Here's where Collins has a legit gripe, and virtual proof of missing details....

Let's say he missed seven tests, as reported....

Why a five game suspension after the seventh?

Why not a one game suspension after three?

Or two games after four?

Five after seven are not what the guidelines say.

He had to have done something that no one wants out there.

It would be much easier to accept if his replacement hasn't struggled so much.

you are not right putting blame on the organization for him missing tests. Absolutely not.

It’s part of their job to give him information.

I don’t know what they told him but if you have a drug test at work and they send everyone home they have to make it clear to him that he still needs to take his drug test at his company that closed due to the pandemic.

Failed one drug test and decided against taking at least two others.

As insensitive as it may sound, those are the rules.

He and the team should know this.

If anything is unfair, it's the length of the suspension.

That I'll agree with.....but everyone knows Goodell and how he is with this stuff.

Not showing up for drug tests is beyond dumb.

Using the excuse that the "team sent us home" is a clear lack of chain of command comprehension.

Really, I hate feeling this way.....but I can't see Collins as blameless here.
Ok, given those facts are true. The rules state missed tests are FINES and not suspensions. And nowhere in the rules is there a 5 game suspension regardless. It is a shaft job any way you look at it. Pathetic.

Collins missed multiple drug tests, according to sources, but he also believes there are valid reasons for almost each missed test.

One missed test came in November on the day that Cowboys strength and conditioning coach Markus Paul died and the organization sent all its players home to allow them to grieve.

Another missed test came on the day of Collins' uncle's funeral in Arizona, according to a source. The Cowboys gave Collins permission to leave Dallas and tend to his family, the source told ESPN.

A third missed test came on the day Collins underwent hip surgery in October. The league counted a positive test for codeine against him, but Collins was prescribed the drug after having the surgery.

Collins didn't have any positive marijuana tests during the past 18 months. His representatives also have argued that under the drug policy in the new collective bargaining agreement, suspensions aren't permitted for missed tests.

But but but....why was he in the program at all....you just dont get 10piss test a month for 18months for nothing......Collins is not innocent in this but the NFL is really suspect here...

Bigger question is WHERE is the NFLPA....thought they are there to protect the player

its a 4 game for a failed and then 6 for the next, in the rules...they are literally making up rules for this.
