Kellan Moore needs to stop getting cute when the offense is moving the ball at will and in scoring position.

That stupid 3 olinemen alignment where they threw a WR screen pass was stupid. They are pounding the rock and moving at will why are you going that deep for a gadget play?

This offense is one of the best in the league no reason for that crap. He does it way too often, usually killing good drives.

Keep doing it.

Now is the time to try things.. See what works and keep trying different thing out. You might find something you didn’t know you had

I went through a decade of watching this team coach offense scared that took our offense back to the Stone Age.

What Kellen is doing right now is a breathe of fresh air.

Jason Garrett couldn’t even figure out how to use 2 RBs within a drive so I’m not taking what I’m seeing for granted after what Jerry & Jason put us through.

You must be blind buddy. Moore is ridiculous.
Until the 20 yard line yes , he is , but he needs to find mismatches in the red zone. I would prefer they don’t kick another field goal until the last min situations like today.

I am ok with not.

KM is very good. He should be the HC.

MM is a bum.

KM as an OC has always had difficulty calling games in the red zone. He doesn't have the experience to be a HC yet. He's Garrett all over again. No No No and NO. While I'm not sold on McCarthy, I do NOT want Moore replacing him.

There is a huge difference between HC and OC. Kellen doesn’t strike me as the guy to motivate the corner who’s just gotten burned for 2 40-yard bombs.

his strength is in the film room and calling plays. His personality appears to be more of a Wade Phillips. A phenomenal football mind that you leave doing that and not having to manage the 3rd string DT who just got arrested for a DUI.

At some point he’s going to get his shot. And he may do well if you have an associate head coach that can be the motivator.

Between the 20's, sure. In the red zone? He needs a lot of work.

Romo said during the broadcast he’s going to be a head coach next year. We all can see how talented he is.

Say McCarthy takes us to the Championship game any chance the ownership say’s “this guy is too talented to lose” and bump Mccarthy to a FO position and hire Moore as our coach. I think thats just being innovative and going with the times. You have a 35 yr old (?) genius of the new nfl ways and you can not let him leave the facility. Plus, that means we start over offensively with probably a guy like Scott Linehan, someone who has one foot out the new nfl door already. Idk. Opinions. Nothing against Mike McCarthy. I think hes been a C plus head coach so far. Its just Moore’s abilty in the new NFL.
It wouldn’t bother me if MM was fired tomorrow and Moore was hired as the HC. MM is just a heavier version of Garrett. Both of their in-game decision making is almost identical to each other and that is not a good thing.

Ah yes, the Moore nit pick. I suppose you would prefer Garret?

The offense under Moore is averaging something like 30 a game the last 2 years.

i wouldnt mind if kellen gets his learning experience elsewhere, we need a true OC that has legit experience .

And as HC, we already experimented with a guy learning whilst on the job for 10 years. Who, coincidentally, is kellen's teacher .

I appreciate what he is doing. But too many times he gets too cute for his own good. And costs us in a game.
Or if something is working he goes away from it.
But if something is not working the way he wants it to, then he keeps going back to it.

And that is frustrating. And as I said, I am that way about him during games. As we all or most all are.
Otherwise I don’t nag on him. I may say I am not 100% sold but that is the worse I say outside of game threads.
Yeah, I am no expert, but the eye test says he is still earning his spurs. The offense still needs reliable red zone success.
Being a good OC does not guarantee the certainty of being a good HC.
That said, he is certainly better than last year if not overall successful.

Ideally MM would be removed and Kellen becomes the coach by next year or the next . I doubt Jerry lets kellen move on. Kellen will stick around if he thinks it is a safer job to wait his turn in dallas . It is the safest long term route to stay close to Jerry .
MM has not convinced that he is a top coach. He is a glorified head trainer at the moment . I don’t see his input on offense or defense or special teams . His demeanor and in game interactions are weak .

agreed am Moore nit pick , but thats true, but how the heck you made the genius assumption I prefer Garrett, I have been one of the staunch critic of Garrett and his outdated offense model and his unwillingness to change things to fit opposition and living in the nineties ( straight up execution , my man beat your man )

I don’t think Moore’s offense is bad in the red zone.
Need to be able to run down in there. Like how he is using pollard.

I agree on a couple of those throwing behind the line to the wr.

Agreed. But MM has been worlds better in the off season and with coordinators.

I’m really glad you posted this because it definitely deserves it’s own thread.

Kellen Moore called a great game today, as usual. He has been on the fast track to be a head coach since he left college; Jon Gruden himself saw it when he interviewed Moore prior to the NFL draft.

Unfortunately, I just don’t see any way that he stays. Jerry isn’t firing McCarthy after this season unless the team completed tanks and that’s not happening. In fact, this team seems destined to win the NFC East and probably one or two playoff games. Then off goes Moore to coach another team.

It’s sad because I think the kid has a real shot to be something special in this league. God forbid he goes to a team like the Giants and we have to face him for the next decade.
