Some of the red zone issues still showed up again yesterday but one of the reasons I keep citing leaped out at us on the throw into the end zone in the third quarter. Dak lobbed one up really high and it's Jarwin against a DB who he has 6 inches in height and a foot in reach on and the DB wins the jump ball. Good lord. If that's Dez it's a "Git off me" touchdown. The Cowboys desperately need a legit red zone receiver to emerge if they're going to get were they wanna go. You're not always going to be able to finesse your way open in that compressed area if the defense drops 8.

Defender was behind Jarwin and made a good play to jump out in front and get his hands on the ball. Sometimes you just got to tip your hat to the opposing player.
It is as if some of our fans don't know anything about football.

Maybe its the ACL but Jarwin is not the best TE on the team any more. Jarwin may be more athletic but Schultz is a poor mans Witten.
Maybe not as athletic :muttley:. . . but definately blue collar . . . It looks like He has a little extra confidence after being the #1 last year

Maybe it's a performance aberration or just one play particularly in the vortex of competition. Fans need to realize players aren't tuned to execute perfectly each and every play.

Also before the injury Jarwin appeared to be quite athletic always managing to get behind the defense and make clutch catches. He has good wheels. As the season progresses, likely will Jarwin.

I know it’s a “what have you done for me lately” league but Jarwin needs a bit more time and patients.

Dallas gets in the redzone and becomes way too predictable. Seemingly every pass is some 50/50 ball towards the back sticks.

I think the box out was what Dak was counting on but I believe the initial route was supposed to be back corner. . .
Everybody and their mother knows where Dak is going with the Ball . . .that's why The DB is able to "Jump the Route"

Jarwin is not someone who is going to out athlete people in the endzone for catches. That isn't his game. The ball probably should have been a little higher.

I think you are probably right . . 6'6 vs. 6 foot. . . thats probably why they designed the play that way . . .Hey 6'6 run to corner of end zone . . . Hey QB throw High where only Receiver can get it. . . . QB: I think I will improvise . . . I will throw it low, they'll never see it coming.

@RonnieT24 . . . claims 100% of the blame is on Jarwin . . . meanwhile the Cowboys Red zone offense has been nonexistent since 2017 after everyone figured out how to defend Dak . . . Just prevent him from rushing it in and contain the pylons.

Serious question.. who here doubts for a second that if that ball is thrown up to pre-injury Dez that he comes down with that ball and makes the DB look like a little kid in the process?

Now @RonnieT24 is wishing for the good ol' days, hoping for someone who can emulate when Dez and Dak had all that chemistry . . . but wasn't the beginning of Dez's downfall showcased in that Amazon series when Dez was chewing Dak out for his inability to get him the ball in the End Zone . . . and culminating in Dak throwing Dez under the bus after the Seattle game?

I think the box out was what Dak was counting on but I believe the initial route was supposed to be back corner. . .

So now Jarwins Chemistry is off. . . well maybe its because Dak has only been practicing for 2 weeks. . .Lets cut everyone some slack

And as good Dak is playing this year between the 1 yd line to the opponents 20 . . . His Achilles Heel is the Red Zone when things get tight.

Its what separates the Champions from the Pretenders . . .

This is my last criticism of Dak and its a Fair one and until the team as a whole starts executing down there. . . .

@RonnieT24 hold off on criticizing the rest off the team . . . The Red Zone is entirely on the shoulders of the QB and contrary to popular belief. . . there are 22 "Athletes" running around in a congested area. . . The passes have to be perfect, you don't have 80 yds to work with

Thus far his year the Red Zone is the Cowboys Achilles heel. . . Its the reason we lost week 1 and its the reason we almost lost this week

What? Lamb, Cooper, Gallup, Zeke, Jarwin and Schultz aint enough

What do you want? Megatron, Randy Moss, Emmitt Smith, T.O, Antonio Gates and Gronk

But I see you. @RonnieT24 . . I feel you. . . poor poor Dak

I don't think its all on Moore though. I think its the execution of the players and the offensive line. The offensive line has changed since 2016. The option with Dak and Zeke use to be money.
:hammer:
This has been where Dak has made his money . . . but unfortunately the NFL game planned Dak and has taken this away

Dak use to be a TD vulture but this is no longer the case and sadly the cowboys have to settle for FGs since 2018

Surprise, surprise, no mention of a possible lack of accuracy. The fact you started this post to try and justify your absolution of any blame on Dak really is a stretch. It was a good defensive play where a DB gets his hand up, hardly justification of blame on anyone's count.

One question, how does jumping higher give him a better chance of catching a ball that's barely head high?

What did you find on the other red zone plays, or was this the only one that supported your bias?

The DB's stretching across, not vertically. You argue against yourself when you say we need a tall receiver....we had that miss match in Jarwin vrs Adderley (4" difference)....however for that to be effective you throw the ball to a position that benefits the height and takes the DB out of the play .....which in that case is higher.

If you look at Brady/Gronk, the accuracy of the throw is as important as the TE's physical attributes.

Im not absolving Jarwin from 'blame' (but he's a limited TE, especially physically and he's probably TE2, I would prefer more Schultz), but it's you who starting the thread and continue this blinkered view that Dak's got no weaknesses.

Dak is like the pitcher who needs the catcher's mitt in position for him to hit, he's unable to visualize the projected target which also results in a number of underthrown balls which land in positions the receiver was in , rather than were he's run to.

As we all saw in LA once again Dak is a need to be carried QB.
Everything around him has to be perfect in order for us to win.

Its a shame because this team is playing with a lot of heart and people want to pick apart every player.

RED ZONE is our Achilles . . . you know that I know that . . . Everyone knows that

Its what you have been saying all these years.

And as soon as Dak improves on this I will be the 1st one to point it out and I will be bragging on My QB . . . but it is beginning to look like a lost cause . . . thankfully Pollard is emerging.

When I refer to him as the Cowboy Anti-Christ 666 the above is the reason why.
No team can carry an average QB weekly and achieve glory.
In the next 15 games, the above will once again be proven to our sincere dismay.
Dak is the massive ANCHOR that is keeping us at bay and we are going nowhere!

We both know this but He is all we got . . . sadly Gallup goes down week 1 now Cooper has a Rib Injury. . . Really? . . if anyone thought He was soft before . . . this will really test His resolve

The way Amari contorts himself with such suddeness is not ideal for him to have a Rib Injury . . . it could linger all season and effect his breathing.

This could be disasterous

We're so lucky that wasn't picked off. That was a bad decision.
No, it really wasn't.
You have the larger guy there and should win that battle.
It was a good play by the defense and Jarwin need sot do a little better.

If you want to score TDs those are about the best matchups you will get, especially with WR1-3 both out.
