The speed of Ezekial Elliott

Ironically DeMarco Murray ran a blistering 4.41 at the NFL Combine, ,, yet he wasn't considered a speedster,
and homerun hitter.

More so likely viewed as a serviceable workhouse. (And likely why Cowboys did not re-sign him long term)

He had a 91 yard TD run vs Rams, the worst run defense in NFL that year.
But he was not considered a long distance homerun hitter.

As most know, combine times are a horrible way to gauge a guy's game speed. Kids train with sprint coaches for 3 months leading up to the combine so as to run good times. Most of them will never train that way ever again in life so they're not likely to ever be that fast again. The obvious exceptions being guys who are lifelong track athletes for whom speed training IS their norm.. I'll never forget that 91 yard run though.. The Rams never even touched him and their safety basically stood there and watched Murray run by him. It was hilarious.. Classic deer in headlights!

Yep, that is the only long TD run he had here. Then he left and had a 54 yard TD run in 2015 and 75 yard TD runs in both 2016 and 2017. Just floored me that he was able to take it the distance again after leaving Dallas.

Carries really. They clearly are featuring 2 backs right now. Better for Zeke long term. I will say I am waiting for the game where they have a good lead and use Zeke to pound and run out the clock in the 4th. I am not a fan but he looks good this year in limited use.

Personally, I try to avoid worrying about such things. It's up to the FO to attend to those matters and there's nothing I can do or say that might convince them to act in my behalf. Since Jerry saw fit to grant Zeke a 2nd contract, I wouldn't be too surprised if he'd do the same with Pollard, also.

He's never been overly bashful about overpaying if he's really fond of that player. He'll offer as much as it takes to retain him, if it suits his fancy. I have enough to be worrying about in my life, without trying to manage Jerry's team for him. That's just me, though. I try to make the best of whatever occurs.

Maybe.. but it was not to the left side.. It was a run up the middle that he cut left after breaking into the secondary. If I recall correctly one guy had hold of him and the second guy came over shortly after he broke the tackle of the first.

Yes, I am aware he started it up the middle and took it "to the left side" as illustrated by the graphic I quoted. There is only 1 run close 19 yards so I'm sure everyone can tell which run i was referring to.
 
..umm.. 4.4, ..probably in college. Dont think he's that now. Looks around 4.6-4.7. Still fast for his size. Personally, anything 4.7 under is Ford Wheels.

Yes sir....you are correct. I'm a bit of an emotional guy, and took umbrage at some....accusations. It got the best of me.

So back to mostly just football and some other relaxing banter.

- then why didn't Tennessee keep him as their Pollard complement to Derrick Henry ...?

- Then how come no other NFL team bother to pick up Murray after Titans cut him ?

Jerry rewarded Zeke a new and highest paid contract, based off two years of leading the NFL in rushing.
Elliott exceeded and outperformed his rookie contract.

If i'm Pollard's agent, i'm gonna go for the gusto as a hot commodity that can get a huge contract on the open free agent market. And Jerry's not gonna pay out big contracts towards two RBs on the same team.

A decision and long term commitment is gonna be likely made towards just one.
Saints drafted Mark Ingram in 1st rd. then stumbled upon Alvin Kamara in the 4th rd. .and eventually decision
was made to move on from one, ..while committing to the other.
