I have been looking for a comp for him. Khalil Mack the best one. Can play and dominate anywhere they line him up.

I see some shades of Von Miller athletically/physique wise.

That said, folks need to dial it back a bit. We have yet to see him actually beat an OT and complete a sack. The sacks he has been apart of have been effort plays where’s he’s chased down the QB.

its odd DFE get paid more because technically a LB has far more responsibility's like converges and calling and setting defenses, he for sure would be wearing the green helmet making adjustments yet get paid less is odd..

lets leave money out of it , wonder really which position he loves more??

his answers are wherever the coaches want me but i believe he truly has one he likes over the other..

I mean it could be either one.

he was a DE all through high school.

It’s a good question.

I mean, Parsons is on pace for 16 sacks at this point and to be tops in the league in pressures.

Whether it’s Lb or DE. I continue to let him attack and harass the QB all game long.

he doesn’t have to be a “DE”. He can do that from OLB and MLB too.
umm we all know with trying to PACE out stats. Typically doesn't work that way,i can see him have 10-12 sacks if hes stays at DE..hes beginning to get chipped more and doubled..

does he weigh enough to hold up to that all season?

can this kid be a HOF DE , Pro bowl DE, ALL Pro? If so, should we leave him there ?

Or when the DEs all come back, does he go back to LB and just get more opportunities to pass rush from his normal spot?

this is a quandary?

i am curious what Parsons would like to be? i wonder if the coaches have asked him?

we haven't seen him at LB enough yet but man he could most likely be fulltime DE and be great at it but does he stay at his current weight to do this 17 games?
why one place vs. the other.....use him as we have and keep the offense guessing on each play. he is such a mismatch for offenses, that keeping him in one place or the other, is going to allow the offenses to counter it.....

Yeah I know that. But what I’m saying is. He is being very productive playing edge right now. That’s the point. I mean the talent is clear.

It depends what the coaches think give the defense the best chance to win. But based on how he is playing. I couldn’t argue against him continuing to play edge if the coaches want.

I think im leaning toward mixing him all over and not defining his position better for offenses not knowing where hes coming from..

is there a nfl comp for this kid, hes got special written all over him..time will tell, its early but was happy draft day and even more happy now..

I think athletically he compares most similarly to Von Miller.

their athletic measurable are almost identical.

To be fair, none of the opposing teams tried running the ball against us.

The Chargers ran like 3 total times from the RB position the whole second half. The Eagles a total of three times total. The difference between these QBs are astronomical though.

If your going downhill all the time, it makes it easier and if OL get to put their hands on him in run blocking, it will start to wear. Let’s see if he can sustain the pressures over the course of a season. He may hit a rookie slump.

If he played full-time DE teams are going to start running the ball right at him and force him to take on a 320-pound tackle, playing to the tackle's strength.
Move him around all over the field and you can't game plan for him.

I am just glad we have Quinn, who is willing to be creative and think outside of the box. If we had Rod, he would be straight LB and any suggestion of moving around would have been dismissed.

I've said it from day one and I'll keep saying it OLB in a 5 man line 75% of the time

Even after the chargers I was saying put him back to MLB.....but NOW, man if he is a top 5 edge rusher in the league that is WAYYYYY more valuable than a top 5 MLB.

its about pressures not just sacks and I believe he has had 13 in his first 2 weeks at a new position. I get it, its early, but he is a different cat.

well creative by necessity which is the mother of invention :)

DQ lost Tank, anae, armstrong, ghoslton, and Gregory for a game..we have no DEs left lol not like he moved him there over one of those guys..:):cool:

I'm just going to say this...

Our defense has played better since he's been playing DE. I wish we could have seen him getting after Brady in Week 1. It might have been a different outcome.

Honestly, I'm not sure Quinn even knows his best position.......yet. He has mentioned how much the kid brings to the table. Either way, I don't think will permanently move him to DE this year. Hell, that would mean benching DLaw or Gregory. My guess, he'll see a bunch DE snaps but still officially listed as LBer
