Yep.amazing what taking care of your body during off season can do for a player.
True, but Zeke was getting yards BEFORE their defense was tired, and most backs need holes to have consistent success.
IMHO, I much prefer Emmitt, or even guys like DeMarco Murray. Zeke looks dumb, up until this year he seemed to lack maturity, I don’t care for the nose ring or Sideshow Bob hairstyle, the embarrassing “Feed Me” crap, or the seemingly arrogant entitlement, but he seems improved from 2020. Add the healthy OL, Moore’s creative playcalling, and turnover-creating defense, and the difference is night and day! JMO.
First of all every run is different, unless we can replay the down in 2016 we don't know if 2016 Zeke would have scored a td, or not.
Second, The DB that caught Zeke ran a 4.46 at the combine. Zeke ran the same time. So he's just as fast as Zeke, nothing Zeke can do about that.
And the DB had the angle on Zeke. Zeke's speed, or any loss of same, was not the reason he got caught...
Barry's line wasn't as bad as some think.
Yep, that's a false narrative. He didn't have our line to run behind, be he ran behind some amazing lineman.
Maybe it wasn't. But I remember that game in 1994 where he absolutely destroyed us for almost 200 yards on 40 carries. That was a 9-7 team. He was their entire offense and Dallas couldn't stop him. No chance this happens with any other RB.
I think he was closing his eyes and got coached up.it’s a habit that can form and players not realize it. Previously Zeke was making initial hole but nothing after contact.Ok I have to admit Elliott has me eating crow. I wanted to trade him away just a few weeks ago. Now he seems to be a very important cog in our defense.
I did mention that he seems to have lost his break away speed. I don't think that's the case. I think he has become a more patient blocker and waits for his blocks to happen. Then he picks his hole.
In 2016 he just runs straight in and looking for contact. He no longer is that Zeke.
He maybe a bit lighter than he ever was. But he seems more quicker than he ever was.
You can talk 40 time as much as you choose to,.. but when it comes to play- speed and visible burst, i'll call it as i see it with players.

So actual numbers vs. the "eye test".
I'll stick with my numbers, just prefer facts over opinions where possible. And no, I don't recall Zeke outrunning players with angles, not to say it didn't happen sometimes, but trying to go back and see who the defensive player was, check what his 40 time was (if he was even at the combine) determine the actual angle, see what Zeke had to do, or not do, before the defender with the angle got near Zeke, and on and on isn't something anybody would probably do. I certainly won't, not worth it.
We'll just have to agree to disagree...
He's a hater....for real. Don't waste your timeHow about he’s in better shape, he’s rededicated, and he’s doing better? How about he’s quicker and fumbling less? How about he’s seeing the field better BECAUSE the OL’s healthy for once?
