It's sad if true. To have been that good in college with so much potential, to get such a devastating injury in the last game of an incredible college career, to see a glimpse of success and what could be, to have been so close to recovered but hurt just enough to lose a precious NFL step.....it's like a tease. He's got to be devastated.

But worse.....to have people who call themselves Cowboy fans insult your dedication, personality, and physical struggle, to use those kind of words to describe Jaylon Smith, to incur hatred simply by giving everything he had to realize a life long dream.....it's sad.

Um….don’t get that. He’s been a decidedly average NFL linebacker this year playing a lower number of snaps. You already owe him all his money this season and you’re not going to get anyone better off the street.

Just seems like a pointless move that only hurts depth

i do not believe we cannot get anyone better off the streets....but they think more of Neal who has missed 2 games and is a safety turning linebacker then they do Jaylon and the up and coming Cox....they dont want progress stopper....Jaylon not even the player he was in 2018.....cowboys ate rest of money so another spot open on 53...they realized they made mistake extending him

Oh for sure. Don’t sleep on Washington. They just lost Jon Bostic for the season
Their LB play has been really bad this year. They are feeling like the may have whiffed on their early round LB from this past draft as well. They might have a big enough ego to take a chance at Jaylon once he clears waivers to see if they can get something out of him.

If you wanna see why Jaylon was cut. Watch the last few moments before Half time of the Panther game. He has no gap awareness at all:facepalm: don't hate the guy. Wish him luck. He beat odds that were clearly stacked against him. I still don't think he ever was 100 percent after the injury.

Seriously, I need to be put on this forum's Ring of Honor because I was calling-out Jaylon back in 2019, but the deniers wouldn't believe it.

BELIEVE IT!!!!!

They didn't want him to get hurt with an injury that might extend to next year, then they would've been on the hook for next year's money as well (ACL, for example).

If they insert Cox, who is going to babysit him? Parson, is still learning, and the new additions have not grasped the playbook.

I see you have already made up your mind. Lets move on.

Jaylon sucks and he is gone. You can cry about Cox to someone else.

They should try and trade Gallup

Not if the goal is to win a SB this year. For longer term success sure, but he could also be why we win a playoff game. What if coop misses a game? We could get thin quick if Gallup is gone. Unless it's a 2nd or better then you keep him and go try to win.
