LB depth should be fine for now. Neal is coming back this week, Cox needs playing time.

The Lbs we will have now are Parsons, LVE, and Neal. Behind them will be Cox and Gifford. Bernard could be activated at some point. I also wouldn't be surprised to see some of Kearse at LB as well.

The play of Gholston also probably factored in this decision as well. With him showing up, with Anae looking ok, and Kamara getting some reps to go along with Gregory, Armstrong, and Lawrence's eventual return we shouldn't need Parsons to be DE going forward.

We are going to have a lot of players coming back eventually so we are going to need roster slots. This means now we don't have to cut a younger player with upside so we can keep someone who wasn't going to be here next year anyway.

Um….don’t get that. He’s been a decidedly average NFL linebacker this year playing a lower number of snaps. You already owe him all his money this season and you’re not going to get anyone better off the street.

Just seems like a pointless move that only hurts depth

Well that’s what I did notice about Eagles…their linebacker group is so bad that Jaylon might start there lol.

It would guarantee us 8-12 yards before being tackled. I'm all for it!

It seems like they waste millions in cap space every year. For several years with Crawford. Then with that awful free agent group last year. Now with Smith.

It feels like they keep some contracts out of loyalty, not production.

Some of the eagles media and eagles fans I follow on Twitter are already clamoring for Jaylon.

Please ohhhhhh please let it happen.

Gholstons amazing emergence is the reason for this IMO. It allows Parsons to stay at LB. And if Cox is coming on, having Jaylon as the 5th LB may have turned into a media distraction.

I can only see it as the team wanting to get the young guys on the field.

You're losing 31-14 in the 4th quarter.

Good riddance. One of the all time most unlikable Cowboys.

I remember that and I think I throw something at the tv when he did that. He just gave me these moments that would just irked the hell out of me.

I did not understand why they did that with Dak. Never did get it.

I remember it working until he past with a few guys. Scanrick, Ratliff….I have no issue with them signing guys early but it better work or your gonna feel it.

I think they got bit on Miles Austin, MB3 and Crawford as well. It's a good idea, but you got to be right, and we often aren't.

It's nice to be the team that can afford to cut for once.

The defensive backs did it first. A lot of good play from those guys, then the dline joined in last week. In a league of nickel & dime defenses, who needs an underperforming $10 million linebacker?

Not sure if it's as much faith in the other linebackers as it is faith in the guys up front and behind them. I think it's a sick (as in great!) psychological move too by the coaches. This is the best "don't eat the cheese" message they could have sent without taking down the team.

Why the "Jaylon hate"?

No there saying he had surgery after the 2020 season ended which meant that his 2021 salary was protected from injury (basically fully guranteed because of the surgery/injury). The tweet was in response to people asking "if he's really this bad then why wasn't he either a post June 1st cut or cut after the draft"

He made the opening day roster. His 2021 salary is now guaranteed, no?

We're so weird.

In the spring we guarantee his salary after he's looked nad and declining for 2 years, and now we cut him out of the blue for *no* cap savings when he's playing his best football since 2018. I wanted to watch some Jaylon tape to see if the signs of his leg problems had diminished or disappeared. I had my first hope for him in a long time, and now he's gone.

Weird.

Apparently, not even the Coaches and GM realized how good this defense was going to be. Hard to blame them after last year.

Yeah please feel bad for me. Woke up at 330am to work a 24 for a modest wage. Lol

Jaylon infuriated me at times, but I wish him the best. Also wouldn't be suprised to see him back as depth on a cheap contract down the road. I know Jerry had a difficult time with this one.
Why ruin a perfectly great evening with thoughts of that????
