pretty much comes with the job, esp with 24/7 sports coverage and player salaries and ticket prices what they are. If the people buying merch and tickets were indifferent to player performances and salaries…then the players wouldn’t make any money or have a job soooo there’s that perspective

LVE is right...

He is absolutely right, but he should not have said what he said publically.

It was heartfelt and raw but there is a reason why QBs are trained to say the same old rote.

Backlash can be a beach and he doesnt need it.

I just don't get why we can't treat each other with some human decency no matter what you do for a living.

The funny thing about all this back and forth is if LVE causes one game winning sack, fumble or interception in any game this year, all is forgiven and he's back in everyone's good graces as a hero. Cowboy fans are so fickle or capricious and I'm right there with them.
its easy for me... I dont care one bit if they are nice guys, bad guys, good or bad to their girlfriends or spouses. Dont care if they do cocaine and hookers 5 days a week. IM prior military and IM a big boy. The ONLY thing I care about is if a players makes the Dallas Cowboys a batter team. I never understand why people get so upset when an athlete says this or that.... who cares? They arent coming to your house for dinner.

He's defending his teammate and probably his friend. I'd hope one of mine would stand up for me.

Fans tend to make it personal, players form bonds with each other so I get where he is coming from.

True but not the same thing. I'm tired of all these people acting like they don't understand the business they willingly entered into.
If you can't speak in public, don't get into something that requires you speak in public. Don't get into it and then whine about the situation.
If you get into professional athletics, don't act like you don't understand its a performance based business. Moreover, don't act like the fan isn't your ultimate boss. If we deem a player to be bad and are happy to see him go are we not doing our duty to look after the best interest of the team? And don't act like you cried for all the people you passed on your journey. You have embraced the "best of the best" grading scale since you first started this game. Simple fact is he wasn't deserving a spot .... just like all the thousands you passed by on your journey.

Fans can be brutal but when you're making millions following a lifelong dream, fan/media criticism should not be something getting under your skin, just shouldn't. It's why we hear most players take fans with a grain of salt behind closed doors.
thats why players should just walk right on byfans when they are asking for pics or autographs. Its clear how they get treated. They should just take the money, play the game, and say F off to all those schmucks.

These guys form tight friendships as a result of a brutally physical game that epitomizes the concept of a team over an individual. Players HAVE to be out on that field for each other. So with that in mind, I completely get LVE’s reaction. A lot of these bonds are just as thick and strong as familial bonds. Fans forget these men, though rich and likely living a life most of us could only dream of, are still human beings. There is a fine line between being happy your team made a good move for the betterment of the franchise versus being happy to see someone suffer.

A lot of fans enjoy seeing players they can’t stand suffer.

And that is disgusting….

He was very specific about the things he’s upset about.

Things like how much a player makes is open for scrutiny.

Hardly anyone is going at these guys personally. Someone saying “you suck Jaylon” is part of his job.

You have your opinion, and I respect that.
I understand the criticism of a player that’s production doesn’t live up to what he’s making, but I don’t fault the player, that’s on the owners, everybody should work to get as much money as they can for their jobs. Again, I think he was talking about #9. I don’t agree with everything LVE said, I just agree that some of the things said are classless, say “gimp” for example.
“ You Suck “ for example, though juvenile, doesn’t come close to the other example, and I believe is used by all fans, and I, and I believe the majority of fans, don’t have an issue with.
Criticism comes with the job, I get that, but some of the criticism can go to far IMO.

You could try working at the phone company? Criticism is part of the job and the public pays the bills, so put your big boy pants on.

What a whine fest and we thought he had dog hunting traits.
this is the one that ALWAYS cracks me up. When people try to make it like, well... you make millions. Come and work the same crappy job I do... because only us with crappy jobs have the right to complain about anything. If you make lots of money..... just shut up and do your job.
