His QBR against the Eagles is the one — that fumble for an Eagle TD must count a lot.
It’s mostly weighted by the teams he’s played and the difficulty of his drives it appears.
Both of his big performance games were Philly and TB, who are two of the worst pass D’s in the league, and his two games against good pass D’s were both wins, but they were not prolific games like the other two.
That combined with the fact that every single one of his TD passes have been in opponent’s territory. This is commensurate with his ypg, ypa, and rushing ypg being his lowest since 2018. Theyre much more of a running game this year and Dak’s play has adjusted to give his team the best chance of winning in that as opposed to 2019. He has 0 TDs and all of his interceptions in his own territory, and their his passer rating drops into the 80’s. Diggs has played a huge part in his passer rating spike this year. Dallas is also top 10 in field goal attempts, vs the QBR leader whose team is 30th. So red zone efficiency, converting long drives, the DVOA of the team you’re playing…. All that is weighted heavily.
58 is a good QBR and being around Rodgers and Allen is not some insult to Dak. It’s a lot more accurate than Passer Rating where he shares the top 10 with Winston, Burrow, Tyrod Taylor, Heinicke, and Bridgewater. Don’t Throw turnovers and have a run game that keeps the defense honest and passer rating will say you’re a great QB. QBR tried to dig a little deeper than that.
Jalen Hurts is 11th in passer rating for crying out loud.
