Are my eyes deceiving me? This is probably the best Dak Prescott has ever played in his career and his QBR metric seems pretty low. He's in the same range as Herbert, Rodgers, Jackson, Josh Allen.

2021 NFL Season Leaders Total QBR | ESPN

Dak Prescott Stats | ESPN
Mahomes, Stafford and Murray are playing their tails off so far and would be high in any form of rating.

But yes, that ESPN QBR gives off some silly results at times.
I really don't see why some like it so much.
But keep in mind that this stuff works itself out over time.

Just combine standard Passer Rating with Turnover Differential (running/passing TDs- ints/fumbles) and you get a more reliable indicator of how someone is playing, over time.
Dak is currently 7th and rising vs 15th in QBR

I will say that a QB that runs a lot....not many other than Lamar...can benefit from QBR. But those are outlier situations.

Just hope we don't have to depend on his arm to win us games.......:omg:
God Zeke make sure the above never happens!!!
We are depending on his arm to win games, and his decision making as well. Having a good running game doesn't mean we aren't also dependent on other elements. It all fits together, which is how winning football works.

If I'm reading the various stats right, it's heavily weighted towards QBs who make things happen when a ply breaks down or "low leverage plays". Dak has been pretty good on those, but hasn't had nearly as many because the OL has been playing pretty well. So you end up with guys like Jameis Winston and Teddy Bridgewater in the top 5. I'll go ahead and pass on these guys and keep Dak, thanks.

Without Zeke, our QB simply can't produce.
Your last example of this was the gimmie week 1 game which he managed to lose.
Did his MIA against the Bolts for 2.5 Quarters.
P.S.Heard the refs are still calling back TD against the Bolts.
And vs the Panthers well with the exception of 1 nice pass completion, the rest occurred once Zeke cleaned house on the Panthers defense.

If Dak goes down, Zeke ain't saving the season. All is lost.
Just saying.

Not because of the talent drop-off.
The locker room is his heck even Zeke is wrapped around his finger.
Great salesman and PR guy and an average QB.

Doesn't that statistic try to calculate a quarterbacks contribution to the team? So if you're running attack is dominant, wouldn't that hurt a quarterback's QBR?

Not necessary, as it’s a per-play metric. Otherwise QBs who throw 50+ times would have the highest QBRs as they’d accumulate way more points due to sheer usage.

I prefer footballoutsiders’ metrics, as they’re adjusted for opponent and situation. plus they’re always tweaking their formulas to address exceptions and outliers.

By footballoutsiders qb ranking (dyar), Dak is 3rd.

QBR and Passer Rating are made up stats by the media.

The same way WAR is in baseball.

Don't pay them any attention.
WAR isn't at all a "made up stat by the media."
But passer rating and (as far as I can tell) QBR are bad stats.

He's 3rd in DYAR, which is the volume stat, and he's 3rd in DVOA, which is the rate stat. Opponent adjustments are pretty weak this early in the season, so we'll see how things evolve. But yeah, FO generally has the right approach.

So when we lose it's Dak. But when we win it's Zeke or somebody else.

Who would have u credited if we won Tampa game. Because u know u would...

That's what u said..just like predicted..
