So WEEI is a Boston sports station who represents the New England Patriots?

They are truly scared. They know the beating that is headed their way come this Sunday!

The only way to truly know this is if there are threads about the refs screwing them before the game starts on their message boards.

The person who wrote that obviously has not watched the games and is reviewing stats through Patriots glasses. Good. Looking forward to article after the game.

There are some valid points, and I would take it more seriously if the source was pretty much from the Patriots newsletter. On that, our defense has holes. We are allowing way too many yards and luckily in some cases, either intercepted or held them up in the Redzone.

oh and "-- Eighth-most missed tackles" ... he's playing for the packers now.. solved.

...lol..crazy what self suggestions will do to you. Cherry pickens. We don't have a great defense, but its good. Good thing, Jaylon is over at GB, Billyboy would have exploited him first.

In years past it wasn't often that I felt pretty comfortable using the Dallas Cowboys defense in Fantasy Football.

This is one of those weeks

Defense is playing way better than last year.i think the pressure on the QB is there but they are not getting sacks.the main problem is we are giving up way too many chunk plays .good QBs will slice this D consistently.

Through five weeks, the Dallas Cowboys defense is proving to be the Imagine Dragons of NFL defenses: they have some hits, but the product as a whole is vastly overrated.

Despite the Cowboys being one of the best in the league in one key stat we’ll get to later, there’s a laundry list of others they aren’t so high in:

-- Second-most passing yards allowed

ADVERTISING
-- Eighth-most total yards allowed

-- Fourth-most yards per play allowed (6.3)

-- Fifth-least in pressure percentage

-- Eighth-most missed tackles

-- Most penalized defense

In addition, Dallas does not have a single defensive lineman rank in the top 10 in any of ESPN’s defensive win rate statistics. The unit as a whole ranks 16th and 17th in pass rush win rate and run stop win rate, respectively. These onslaught of stats are to point out that the Dallas defense, as a whole and as individuals, mostly range somewhere from medicare to below average.

Second passing passing yards is a product of our blowouts. Garbage time stats when teams do nothing but throw the ball and we’ve taken some of our starters out early.

Am I missing something on these penalties? I don’t recall a lot of penalties at all.

Also, we addressed the missed tackle problem for the most part, with the release of #9.

Dallas has a really good pass rush. Saying the defense is overrated is ridiculous.

Yes we will give up yards but we’re going to throw your QBs timing off and it’s going to cause mistakes.

You most likely won’t be able to run the ball because our offense will score points and you will abandon it.
I don't see it happening anytime soon, but 2021 could be high time to quit ranking team defense by yards allowed.

I'll take pressure and turnovers all day.

Allowing yardage is even an actual strategy at times.

Let's make this simple. By Simple Ranking, there are not 5 NFL offenses worse than NE's. Denver is worse, the Jets are worse, and that's it.

If you have to brag about the 30th ranked offense in the league...

If the wind isn’t oppressive I really don’t see them stopping this team. Just gotta not cowboy up the game like we tried against NY

Are they taking in the fact that a couple of games the Cowboys had large leads and jumped into their Prevent D? Also, with Smith gone I believe your going to see the run Defense tighten up a bit. This D is still finding it's self, once all the pieces are back together hopefully we'll see a real bad *** D week in and week out.

Not only the prevent D, but they’ve taken Diggs and others out early for the backups too.

One thing I will say, I feel the Patriots will try to rest the Cowboys run defense more than anyone else has to this point. Whether they’re successful or not, I don’t know. But I expect that to be the plan. Run game, short quick passes, and keep our offense off the field as much as possible.

If we jump out to an early lead, they could be forced out of that plan. But if we stop ourselves like we did against the Giants, I think they’ll stick with that strategy.
