What this title should really say is "Smart football = more winning".

If you don't run the ball and throw some short stuff, the opposing pass rusher can simply pin back their ears and go. You absolutely must make them guard the edge, make sure the RB isn't flowing past them. When the QB is simply dropping back every play to pass, the opposing D has it much easier.

This is total garbage. This isnt complicated. If you are running the ball at almost 5.7 ypc and your team is up in every game minus 1, of course you are going to run more than throw. When you run the ball for 150 plus, and hit over 200 a couple of games.. yea, you are probably winning those games and throwing less.

If you are throwing the ball 40 plus in a game, you are probably losing and thats why you are throwing. Anyone watching games knows that Dak is hardly being carried. I was the biggest Dak skeptic for 4 years. Not any more. He has played great, and if we have th throw 35 times there is little Doubt Dak will go for 27-35, probably throw for 325 yards and have 3 tds. That will work as well. BUT, no team is gonna throw it 40 times when you can run for 200 on a team.

That only works when many of the 50+ throws are short passes used like the running game to control the clock and keep the opposing pass rushers from just raging in.

Also Russell Wilson is still viewed as a great QB, despite the fact that he had a good running game with Marshawn Lynch, which helped Seattle win the Super Bowl that season.

Russell Wilson is a great QB because he makes a lot of plays but like all great QBs he’s had solid teams around him. He wouldn’t be viewed the way he is if it was all put on his shoulders every week. You’re not going to win many games if the team around your QB isn’t very good. We’ve seen some very average QBs win Super Bowl’s because of the teams they had around them.

Steve Young struggled in Tampa having to shoulder the load every week on some real bad teams. It may be a QB driven league but you still need a solid team around your QB. If they don’t have some weapons or a solid defense to help them out they’re going to struggle. If all defenses have to do is pin their ears back and come after your QB every week good luck winning games.

They're going to pay some QB that or they'll have one on a 1st contract because that's the way the league is headed. Top10's or even 15's are going to get that kind of money because teams can't just change QB's.

Some act like the QB isn't the dog now instead of the tail. KC is paying one 45M and is in last place in their division.

What do you think Allen, Jackson, Murray and even Mayfield are going to get when they're up? Then comes Burrow and Herbert.

The fallacy in the QB pay argument and making comparisons is that those QB's are not available. This isn't like every QB is a FA and the Cowboys can pick a different one and what other team in the NFL has lucked into their last two QB1's? You want them picking a franchise QB?

I don't get it. This team is as QB challenged as any in the last 25 years and we have that turnstile door to prove it. Luck into two QB's and complain about it like you have a choice.

There was no choice and they knew it. Pay Prescott or start over and give up some draft capital to take a shot at that.

I’m amazed at how well Dak played last season during the first five games behind a makeshift OL and having a historically bad defense. We had virtually no running game and a defensive that couldn’t stop anyone, yet Dak excelled.

Now if you're an intelligent fan and you acknowledge this obvious truth, you have to ask yourself why this team would approach the opening game like they did. Submitting to a formula they know they are far less likely to win using simply because they were scared of the Buccaneers' run defense.

That was weak.

Stick to the winning formula. Rely on actually talented players and minimize the fraud.
