What a shocking revelation. A quarterback wins when he has protection, a running game, good receivers, and support from a defense??

This is so funny. A year ago Dak was blamed when the Cowboys had none of the above. Now that he does he's an unneeded commodity.

Trolls and haters can take any situation, good or bad, and spin it in order to meet their agenda. Hell, lets send Cooper Rush out there at New England Sunday afternoon, the rest of the team has got this! :lmao2:

What's up, bros?

6:35 of the video. This is indisputable. Less of Rayne Dakota means more winning.

Like a true 40 million dollar franchise QB.

That's the first attribute you look for. Someone who needs to be carried.

Cowboys!

Interesting take. I think it highlights why a balanced offense is so important to winning a lot of games vs simply throwing the ball 40 - 50 times a game. Runs mixed with passes means more ball possession for your offense and less offensive touches for the opponent and also keeps your defense off the field. Wonder how those stats are affected by turnovers bet the 17-4 record he cites in that video bears that out in those 4 losses.

I was not talking about the video. Are you trying to BS me by telling me no one here bashes or roots against Dak?

Supporting Dak here always gets an unstable emotional reaction from so-called fans. It works both ways.

Roger was the face of his team, Danny was the face of his team, Troy was the face of his team, Tony was the face of his team and now Dak is the face of this team. Get over it!

I can only speak for myself and say that prior to this season Dak was not the Top 5-6 QB everyone was claiming. I posted statistics to point out my position and I would presume that many who were critical of Dak (including myself) did so not because of some falsely conjured up hatred of Dak but rather as a way to try and counter those that saw Dallas as Dak and refused to allow for any criticism of Dak, even when warranted.

That said, many including myself have stated that Dak is playing really well this season while also pointing out that the running game and defense have played extremely well, therefore making it so Dak isn't throwing it so much and instead using a higher percentage passing game to partner with a very good running game. There is nothing wrong with pointing that out but some see said comments as anti-Dak when in fact it is more pro-balanced offense.

I'm not reading the whole thread but all this means to me is if a team runs for close to 200 yards per game with an at least capable qb, you'll win most of your games, and if you can't run the ball and can't stop the other team, more than likely you'll lose.

Right…

Yet it was nothing but an ish on Dak fest last year on this board after every game. This attitude was so pervasive that many of you pessimistic Dak-downers (is that name more acceptable to your sensitivities?) that all of you, to a poster, thought Dalton was better and would show it lmao.

Okay, I attempted to have an adult dialogue with you but clearly your only motivation is to hurl insults and create drama....no thanks.Enjoy the day.

While I agree salaries are way over the top and the NFL rules in terms of refereeing has made the league all about the offense, the fact is the 2020 Dallas defense was statistically one of the worst in franchise history. If Dallas was devoted so much in terms of monetary resources to the offensive side of the ball while ignoring the defense, we get what we saw in 2020.

However, when you dedicate financial and draft capitol into the defense as Dallas did this past off-season, we see what a more balanced team can do.
Ehh its worth noting that the Cowboys had coaching issues in 2020 with Mike Nolan. The year before they were far from the worst unit in the league and in 2021 they are far from them worst in the league.

I mean let's look at some of the highest paid players in the league right now......

Aaron Donald and Jaylon Ramsey are the highest paid defenders in the league and they play for a mediocre unit on defense.
Demarcus Lawrence.......we already know there.
Xavien Howard and Byron Jones...highest paid corners in the league on the same team.......terrible defense.
Jamal Adams.....ehh...yeah.

I don't bring these up to say you shouldn't spend money. I'm saying the objective is to draft players and spend money not hem. You don't want to find yourself having to trade two 1st rounders and a max contract on a Jaylon Ramsey or Jamal Adams. The game is still won in the trenches and you gotta find those guys.

That and it also means if you are play turnover free football and not getting behind in games....you don't have to throw the ball as much and you keep your defense off the field.

I cannot possibly imagine spending as much time as Risen does on this forum, just to be so so wrong.

To each his own!

Where you been at Pappy? Haven’t seen you in like 4 weeks lol.

He'll be gone again if Dak has a big game against the Patriots or if the Cowboys beat the Patriots, since according to him the Patriots are when the "real season" starts and their defense a real tough test for the Cowboys offense.

Fair post.

But you and I both know there's several that root against Dak and they always chime in with something negative when say, Rockport, posts a pro-Dak thread. Like us Dak fans that comes to his defense when someone bashes him for no reason, the anti-Dak crowd comes in with negative comments when we make positive threads about Dak. Some would say that's the same thing but IMO, this is a Cowboys message board and Dak at the moment is the face if this team, so it makes ZERO sense to root against the QB of your favorite team.

I’m talking about Pats Brady not talking about Brady in 2021…Bellicheats system and you will see it on Sunday is to take what the defense gives you and take all of the underneath stuff and move the football with short passes. What he does in Arians system is completely different.
Lol.

You switched the goalposts from comparing QB's to comparing systems.

Brady is winning by throwing at a much greater clip than handing off.

Dak has not done that. It is what it is.

I'm excited about Dak this season. He made some throws last week that I have been critical of him for not making in the past. To compare Dak to Brady as far as mastery of the passing game goes is foolish, though. Don't do that.

Agree which makes it more frustrating when Dallas reached for Taco Charlton (and passed on TJ Watt) and Trystin Hill (and passed on Juan Thornhill). While the draft isn't an exact science it's nice to see Dallas hit on guys like Diggs, Parsons, and Osa as you can see what good young talent can do for a team like Dallas.

There will be extremes on both sides as while I admit there are some that hate Dak there are also some that go overboard about Dak. At the end of the day I do not have a favorite player but rather am more team focused.

He has 5 likes on this thread lol......so based on what you're saying...this is a FAIL lol.
Yes, if likes are really all your after. I think the pleasure comes with yours and many others attention and disdain over an opinion about a football player. An opinion that has no effect on the player or team but certainly does for it's fans.

Sounds like you're describing a loser......I'd give him a little more credit than that though.
