One team loading up for this year and the other stocking up for the future.
Eagles have that 2022 conditional 2nd round pick from the Colts that could become a 1st if Wentz plays 75% of the offensive snaps for Indianapolis.

Is your point we can't win with them despite being 4-1 with them?

His point is if you expect to run into the likes of the giants and the Eagles in the playoffs, then this year will go a whole lot like the last 26. You’ve played 1 team so far you will see in the NFC playoffs, and it’s the one you couldn’t beat because they torched your corners

I do like how the Cardinals addressed this. They like their chances this year, lost a valuable player and went out and replaced the void.

Cheap Stepehen would just tell you how the random undrafed FA we signed has looked really good in practice and will step up to replace our injured player. Many here would lap it up too.

The Cards overpaid because they did not have depth at the TE position.

The receiving team would be getting a bargain. Million dollars until end of 2023. Eagles post june would have 11 million in dead cap but save a 2 million.

Comparing OTC (which I looked at) with spotrac, they have different numbers for 2022.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/fletcher-cox-9822/

I see this:

POST-6/1 TRADE

2021 Dead Cap: $11,665,000

2022 Dead Cap: $24,295,000

2021 Cap Savings: $1,075,000

I like the Cowboys’ chances in a rematch. Missed FG and XP was the difference.

Would you say the Defense is playing better or worse since the first game of the season with a 50% overhaul in the defense...Again if we played the Bucs tomorrow I dont think the defense looks the same as it did the first game with 7 new pieces starting....

Dead cap is money already on their cap for him added with what's left when he leaves.
You also have to look at post june 1 trade pull down. I just don't know if the info is correct. It doesn't match with spotrac numbers.

No way the Eagles could trade Cox this year. Next year they may be able to do it.

The Carolina Panthers have $40M in dead cap this year. People tend to complain about dead money but dead money only matters if the team doesn’t have cheap replacements who are decent.

They made an aggressive move to get better.

Stephen has convinced you all that this is a bad thing.

Years of splashy moves where Jerry overpaid have given too many fans sticker shock. Whereas now, Stephen won't make a move unless he thinks the Cowboys are getting a discount. Both are awful approaches to roster building.

However, if they felt good about their chances this season they wouldn’t have traded him during the season. Anytime a team is looking to stock pile picks this early into the season they’re looking ahead to next year.
Agreed. If they were 4-2, Maybe this wouldn’t happen

Well, have you played an offense as good as the Bucs since? Maybe the D was as good in that game, but the context was skewed. Do you play the Rams this year?

It definitely wouldn’t have happened if they were winning. He’s one of their best players, a weapon and security blanket for Hurts.

Teams who are trading now are a) trying to unload players, b) desperate due to injury, or c) looking to sell a player high.

Chargers looked pretty good..I mean they beat them....

I mean they have averaged 30 point against everyone else they played....

Zach Ertz is an excellent TE for a passing team but is an UFA at the end of the season. He got a 5th round pick and a depth DB.

For everyone who wants to trade Gallup - that's about the value you can expect.
